It used to be that $3 or $4 would give you 10 gallon of gas, now for %10 you get about 3 gallon.

Who remembers watching the Jetsons and thinking "wow wouldnt it be great to have that visaphone, or to be able to fly your own car to work..." lol

We have pretty much everything off of the jetsons now, and they are working on a prototype now of a small 2 or 4 passanger aircraft meant to act as a taxi service.

Yep, I remember thinking that, Daniel.

geez its so weird how much has changed just in the past decade...noway

I remember watching the Jetson`s once, and George is telling Jane. A thousand dollars a week sure doesn`t go far anymore...This was 1964, when most people were making about maybe $2.25 an hour.

When I first started driving in 1968, gas was 29 or 30 cents a gallon. Most cars had 20 gallon tanks on them. What I pay for 1 gallon now would have given me a half a tank of gas then. Of course my car now has a 12 gallon tank, so I guess mine would fill up at $3.60 then. Imagine that.

You never see families going out into the woods and actually camping in tents and roughing it anymore. Now everyone takes an rv, hooks up to a concrete slab with water and electric available and amillion moer slabs around you. A convenience store right on site for you to get what yuo need or want, with an arcade room. The most rustic they get is a communal toilet and shower.

Now me, I would rather go into the woods, pitch a tent (this means set a tent up in the proper position lol, not throw it away). Find a creek or river bed to catch fish for dinner, and bathe in. Go hiking and watch the stars come out at night. have bonfires (well protected of course, and even with this setting I agree with having a fire extinguisher available).

One campground I went to as a kid was called yogi bear national campground or soethinglike that. They had some campers but was primarily tents. They did have an arcade and general store, but they were also in the middle of the woods by a loke, and they ahd an outdoor "theatre". At least tehy tried to include nature and the great outdoors.

Better yet, go with a few friends and set up a ring of tents in the woods like I described above. You can not imagine how fun AND RELAXING it is.

Wow..Talk about going down memory road..yeppers those were the good ole days (sheesh, ya think I was old or somethin')..I really enjoy camping, in a REAL tent, surrounded by nature, with a creek, go fishing...have a bonfire, roast marshmellows.drinker

There is a candy store near Cleveland, Ohio. They carry all of that type of candy from when we were kids.

Next time I go to the R&R HOF, I'll have to look for it. Ain't no candy stores up in WI that carry them as far as I know.
