Hope is Alive My failures are stains on the window panes of my mind I feel the pain like every grain in the sands of time Floating in a circular moat of despair What is this place my heart has found I can’t seem to get on solid ground I look for answers as I search my soul Peace is so elusive The breath of death is on my neck I look for an escape A spark, a moment A flicker of light A match to light a candle The flame dances Hope is alive
