I can't believe it but I lost a little more weight, even though I thought I'd been eating too many bad things the last week.
But I now make sure this is with or shortly after dinner, before 20:00.
I know they always say to not eat after 8, which I never heeded as for me it never made any difference regarding my weight.
But apparently that is something that has changed now that I'm through menopause.
So if I 'sin' and eat something that is rather bad or fattening it is before 8.

Currently 2 (metric) ounces short of 9 kilos weightloss!
I have not seen my current weight in 4-5 years :)

All in all I don't regret those years with more weight because for the first time in my life I didn't give a toss. I did give a toss about myself, my health, and my looks, that's not what I mean. But I didn't give a toss about wanting to get approval about my looks & body from others.
A result from having been bullied for years in the past that became a deeply ingrained pattern / program.
It was such a relief to finally not care about that anymore, to be freed of that!
So in that sense I needed the experience. Until I myself got fed up with it in January.
My choice without any old attachment to 'what would they think'.

And now I got both that freedom from the old program AND the weight I want.
Win-win :D

This morning I made time to take a photo.
My gauge all this time were these jeans shorts and I happened to have a photo of me wearing them.
So I put on the shorts, same top and boots.
Not exactly the same as lighting is different, camera too, but as close as I could get it.

Left photo is from 2016...
Right photo is from this morning.

I can again wear all the nice shirts and things that I love so much! smooched

Hahahaha, I appreciate that, Richard flowerforyou smooched

My weight is holding steady at 10-10,5 kgs weight loss, even if I eat the odd less-healthy stuff at times like fries, or dessert or a pizza. No change, so I'm happy.
At some point it was even 11 kilos, hihi.
This is what I wanted, back to normal and being able to occasionally eat whatever without any issue.

I went out for dinner last Wednesday, posh dinner at the restaurant where my son works as chef. I was invited :)
As I followed the boss into the kitchen to greet my son, he said "Wow, you've lost weight!"
Those are great moments in life, hihi.

you you do look great! I had let myself go for years, then stopped enjoying food, lots of teeth issues, and backed off on my eating, I lost 90lbs in 5-6 years, still have a small belly, but I am close to what I want to be weight wise, I am at 215lbs, I want to be 185-200lbs, which was my range when I was a younger man.

Im still working on my total gym, and trying to get my self back in better shape, had a big set back, my boss had a double bi pass, and also a blocked artery in his leg replaced.
so I have been away from my routine taking care of him.
hopefully, I'll get back on track soon.

I had heard good things about the 'Fasting' idea of dieting so I thought I would give it a try. I started off slow though, with just doing a 12-12 fast so 12 hours of no eating and then 12 hours I could. That was basically a normal day for me anyways so then I went to a 14 hour fast and 10 hours eating. I did that for a couple of weeks and it was not that hard. after a while I went to a 15 hour and then a 16 hour fast, this was when I started to feel it. Your body will be a little sluggish until you eat...lol

But the more I was reading up on fasting, it seemed like the common thing was the 18 hour fast being the best and have your workout right before you break your fast each day. For about a month, I was in a fog while working out but even that went away. I am still hungry at the start of my workouts but I know that goes away a few minutes after I start exercising.

I started this as a fat loss idea, so I kept the same calorie intake and just changed when I ate. I have actually dropped about an inch in my waist and belly area which has always been hard for me to lose there. But the thing I did not expect was the side effects, I use to get bladder spasms that I had to take a couple pills each day for...now I am just taking one pill a day. I also sleep a lot better at night. A lady down the street from me said she also started fasting for weight loss but it cleared up her eczema problems. I just thought I would share...

I just eat when I am hungry and that caused me to lose about 40 pounds in 1 year.

I understand where you are coming from Crystal, and I had the same issues. Like you I don’t believe in diets or counting calories etc as a balanced diet and exercise should keep us on the right path. I have a sweet tooth so I started keeping in lots of fresh fruit and low calorie yoghurt so I could get my β€˜sweet’ fix, I also keep in lots of salad, which is obviously great at this time of year. I have managed to lose the few pounds I put on during lockdown, and that has made me feel more motivated and determined to carry on. I have also swapped to skimmed milk and decaf coffee and tea.

Good luck

Cafeine does have the property to augment the speed of burning ATP in the muscles. (Seems to be a cathalyser in that respect) In other words: cafeine helps augmenting prestations (like in running) and slimming down. Therefore, there is no need to decaf anything. :-)

I was doing this at night and wouldn't eat until lunch but felt like crap, headaches and felt weak. Now I'll skip lunch and it's not so bad.
