oh I totally understand that...I helped raise my nephew and niece who are now 11 and 10 respectively...while both have a great sense of humor...my niece is my cuddle bud and my nephew is the jokester (though he'll cuddle with me...even in public...lol he did at church last night...both of them were laying their heads on my lap...oh how I love them)

And yeppers...I started on clarinet in 6th grade, then taught myself the flute in 8th...I love the flute...still play it...in marching band I played the piccolo for most of the time. I also played alto sax in the pit band for the senior year musical...I want to get an Irish flute...I love it....

I`m not a great photographer...I`m pretty good at playing drums. Music and model railroading are my hobbies.

My sister played clarinet and bagpipes..Imagine my parents, when my sister fired up the bagpipes, and I`m playing drumslaugh They were saints to put with that.drinker

lol ed...yea my mom never had to ask me to practice...she usually asked me to um...wait till some other time...lets just say I've always been a night owl...I get it from her...and I would want to practice at the oddest of times...most of the time Mom would be cool with it...as long as I shut my door...but sometimes I wouldn't realize how into I got into my music. bigsmile blushing flowerforyou drinker

Love photography, and have spent quite a bit on it in the past few years. Love digital, as you can take thousands of photos and choose later which ones are good or not. Photographing people is always best, although not the easiest.

If you guys like photog, I have a favor to ask (this is the one time and place I'll advertise myself, promise): I have a blog I put up recently, to showcase people's favorite photos.

It's at http://greatphotoz.blogspot.com

If you guys could stop by, check it out, and send me comments (or submissions), that'd be great.

Have a great one,
D.

I try to do it all when it comes to Creativity. I guess I started with drawing, painting, then Photography, Poetry, then came into Music later and became an instrument junkie, I keep getting more instruments, guitar, banjo, violin, viola, mandolin, piano, keyboards, a few Indian flutes, and a nickel orchestral flute, drum set,and other drums. Then I got into multi track recording, and layering the sound. Then I started writing short stories. I got into web design and made a site where I put all my creative endeavors. Shameless plug...www.yantraimages.com I've never been able to make enough money with my artwork though, the web design brings in some cash. I take it back, I was a professional photographer for a couple of years, photographing artwork, clothes, jewelry, and some model work, mainly for advertising.

I've spent some time behind a camera. I picked it up when I was 9 years old. I still have my first camera. A 1940's vintage medium format. It's great for taking black and whites. Something about film is lost in digital...especially in black and white stills and portraiture.

I've got a few of my images on my profile, of the Seattle area and Oregon Coast.

jistme, wow, that vintage camera sounds nice :) wish i could get my hands on something like that. and black and white photos too. my fave! i took a few photography classes back in college and learned how to develop my own black and white film. that was one of the coolest things i ever learned how to do.

I love photography. I started as a video photographer and wedding photographer but time passed and things changed. I just returned to the states from living in Japan for 13 years. While in Japan I got into digital photography. I love taking pictures of kids and nature. I love to look at and photograph the shapes of nature.

I enjoy video too but I don't have one and only when I see just something soooo unique...ONE time I accidentally did a really awesome....really short video...I was shooting a video on my digital with "I Can Only Imagine" playing in the background...didn't realize it...but anyhow of elk feeding in a field of tall grass in Yellowstone...its just somehow soo simple that its powerfull....but yes I love my still photos...I can see them whenever...I love the shapes and the mysteriousness of nature...I have a couple that I photographed the base of the Tetons with a fresh snowfall in the middle of winter...it looks like I'm looking down into a path leading to whomever knows where...

Love photography here too, though I don't get as much of an opportunity to be creative as I like. For anyone interested I have a work in progress online gallery that I add to as time permits (more creative type stuff than the family photo gig).

Tiffa, glad you're a band geek too..makes me feel better. i didn't get to go to any of the competitions this year. i really wanted to, but they always had them when i was scheduled to work..oh well. 18 nieces and nephews huh? wow...that's a lot. i have three nieces myself but that's it. sounds like u have a nice big family. i'm jealous, i was an only child, and that sucked! i still have my sax too. maybe someday my son will play it, who knows? he loves music like i do, so it is possible. i took piano for about 5 years myself. it's been a long time since i have played though.

Becca, Bank geeks are awesome...just go to any graduating band member (marching band member mostly...because we had to be in the other bands too) or band member of Vermilion High in ohio and we're alll band geeks, our director was awesome and we had fun while learning lots.
Yeah I hope for my children (****future children, I should say) or my nephew and niece to find the love in music...my mom has a stand up piano that if my niece doesn't want it, I get it...but lol I want my niece to want it because...lol just said I wanted her to find the love in music.laugh I actually play my flute still...I have my first flute that I'll pass on gladly but I'm too much into my playing to give up my nicer flute...unless of course I bought myself a new one...but if I could do that...I'd but the child the new instrument first...huh laugh
Isn't it just so awesome to see a child get interested in music...even if its just seeing them shake their hips to the beat...I really think my niece will find her way in music because she tends to take after me...I'm the bestest aunt/niece ever...according to her. Oh I love those two so much.
-Tiffa

and phoenix that's awesome...I'll try to visit your site when I get on wireless this weekend...we're celebrating my niece and nephews birthday on sunday so its an excuse for me to drive home...

...keep being creative JSH...it makes us who we are...
