Topic: The Importance of Wolves | |
---|---|
This clip is quite the eye-opener.
Many people get all upset when the wolf is back, mostly related to money. The wolf in that one state in the US isn't protected anymore and likely about to go extinct yet again cos people couldn't wait to kill them off. The wolf turned up in Germany and also the occasional one in The Netherlands. Same thing: people upset, although this was mostly related to fear for their kids. But the wolf is SO important! Just look at the clip: the presence of the wolf is important to the entire ecosystem and thus also beneficial to humans. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysa5OBhXz-Q&ab_channel=SustainableHuman |

All wildlife is important and we donβt realize it until itβs too late.

Although wolves are fascinating and much maligned creatures, I think that people are just too afraid of them to allow for a reintroduction in those places that wiped them out.

I watched the clip, I always thought wolves were amazing and I love them, but never realized how much they help ecosystem, very cool!
Thanks for sharing this Crystal. :) |

All wildlife is important and we donβt realize it until itβs too late. Fortunately more and more people do realise. It's just the people who lose out money/income when for instance the wolf comes back to where it always belonged, like a farmer losing sheep because wolf kills them. Difficult to sort the issue. The wolf is doing what it should do, attempt to restore natural balance in numbers, but you cannot get farmers to disappear either. How to co-habitat? |

Everything that I know about wolves I learned from Tex Avery. I don't know Tex Avery, hihi. Tex was an American cartoonist and most notably drew Woody Woodpecker if that helps any. I'm glad you posted this since most don't understand these things. I love wolves and back 35 years ago when I raised German Shepherds it was the beginning of the wolf hybrid days so I bred a couple with my dogs they were beautiful very, very smart and true escape artists. |

Iβd also like to add that we are building homes and other things on their land but we donβt think about that so if you see it close to your home youβll know why. Around here itβs coyotes. Yes, I know weβre more aware of trying to protect wildlife but more of it is becoming endangered and we still need to be aware of that and thatβs my point.

Yeah, that's the problem with many things: we expand and expand and expand and then co-habiting becomes a problem and it's the animal that has to go... But it's also with other things like building homes in flood areas of rivers because they hardly ever flood. Then when it does happen people feel sorry for themselves that their home is ruined... It's kind of like buying a house next to an airport, saying you don't mind, then after a year or so start fighting the airport for noise problems. A while back I watched a docu on an area in Africa where they had similar problems with farmers and wild animals that ate their stock. They sorted it with huge fences and that worked really well. Might be an investment but if that way you can co-habitat without killing the wildlife, great!! We got to think solutions, and not pick up a rifle and start killing. That is not a solution. Not an acceptable one for me anyways. |

Wolves are perhaps my favoritest animal on the planet. They are pretty danged cool! But I like other animals too, like lions. When you watch docus on how they live, how much they cuddle and play and cuddle... The females looking out for each other's pups, working together like sisters / besties to hunt and so on... we can truly learn something from the lion & lionesses! A while back I felt very drawn to watching these docus for some reason and they stole my heart, hihi. |

Other things that kill off animals are out of greed for their fur and certain body parts like tigers and over hunting can be a cause too. Even with the best conservation some are still endangered and need protection until a heathy population is back in place.

I am in groups on fB for wolves ... since I saw the curtly from hunters in Alaska ...shoot them from the air ... just to do it ... left them to suffer ... |
