i believe that no solid relationship can be established without friendship first. Seems kind of difficult on this app to find friendship. Maybe I'm just messed up idk

I never get why people want friendship first. I suspect it has to do with fear of opening up, opening the heart, getting involved and then getting hurt when it doesn't work out.
Like a buffer, a safety-valve or something.
I would not even get involved or start dating with a man who wanted friendship first. I'm not looking for a friend, I'm looking for a partner. If that is not the man's intent I'm not interested. I'm not into wasting my time.

A dating friendship that might become more can be a good thing in my opinion, but if someone says it could never be any more than friendship then that is a very different relationship. It's better for both people to know from the outset what each other is looking for in their future relationship. When someone says they are looking for friendship, it maybe better to say 'friendship first' or 'friendship, possibly leading to something more', if that is what they are looking for.

You're right, I'm on this app looking for friendship but it seems like I'm never getting what I came here for

I agree and feel the same way. Any relationship I've had that began with the intent of friendship first, continued to be that... just friends! When I was younger I would go along with it in hopes of it becoming more, or he would, but it never happened.

Today, I'm not interested in dating someone who says "Let's be friends and see what happens". I want a man who feels that initial spark with me and wants to pursue more than a simple friendship.

I would think you would want to at least be friends with the person before you are intimate with them, or have a relationship. Or am I just reading the same book but on a different page?

I believe it's important to be friends. I'd like to know that we enjoy spending time with each other before becoming intimate.

Don't wait to long. But be sure they are not crazy.

Exactly! I feel there's a huge risk that the person who wants friendship first is never going to commit. It would also make sense that people who have problems committing, because they have been hurt before and not healed, are the ones who are looking for friendship-first.
Sod that!
The days that I allowed people to waste my time has gone, hihi.
I've never done the friends first. I don't see the point. If there isn't a spark, why bother? That's like waiting for a flower to grow without ever having planted a seed.

If you are looking for a solid relationship. friends first is probably a good way to go, don't become so involved with 'too much too soon', that way no one gets hurt. If you rush in all starry eyed, full of the joys of spring thinking you have found your one and only, it could still fail resulting in a lot of pain. Taking time to get to know each other, slowly becoming friends and seeing where it leads you both is a better idea, still has no guarantee of success, but you are likely to know where it's going sooner and avoid the pain of a break up if its not to be.
