Farmer Bean had dreams
Brushed off his green jeans
Had the means
To make the scene
He knew he could play
Had the day

But Dean Bean did go
Because he did know
As he went to and fro
All would grow

Went with the flow

The town wondered about his mind

Now the town's lips
Flapped of Bean's trip
Had he lost his grip
Had his mind slipped
Did intentions dip
Take a long walk
Off a short slip
The town did backflips
Sifting through almanacs
For growing tips
Straining friendships
Worrying about harvest time

As the townfolk
All went loc
And could not choke
Back in their throats
The sour notes and
Harsh words spoke
Stories evolved and
Writers wrote
The town went turncoat
They just had to float
The suspicion boat
Made up their minds
Were quick to gloat
That Bean had passed his prime

The air thick and still
As accusations spilled
Missing facts filled
With standard swill
It was overkill
At the rumor mill
My how some were thrilled
Feeling Power build
Jockeyed in the guild
All truth was killed
Soon refilled
With a hard to swallow
Bitter pill of
Hearsay opinion and lie

Inquiries were sent
As to where Bean went
Had the farmer Gent
Gotten priorities bent
Would their pocket dent
Survive the seeds they lent
Should they raise the rents
Put the poor in tents
Were their margins spent
This sad descent
Would not relent
Became a din an event
A powerplay an argument
You could smell the scent
Of the swill ferment
Fragments forewent
Due process...consent
But did they lament
Even once repent
As the farmer gent
Returned with new implements
No, they believed in him the whole time
