Why is interracial dating still a taboo in the 21st Century?
I am asking this because my sis (Black Female) and her boyfriend (White male) have recieved dirty looks from Whites and Blacks. |

Perhaps it has to do with personal preference. I don't think I've ever imagined myself dating a black woman. Now I'm kind of curious to try....

i work labor and delivery in Texas- have for 25 years seen a lot of interracial couples- no one seems to think anything about it. |

Maybe they are looking at them because they are a stunning couple?

it's becoming more common place but yeah it still gets lots of looks and talking behind your back. personally i don't care, if i like them i'll date whoever no matter what color or size or looking.....

who knows. i would think men and women would look pass this . after all WE both bleed the same color blood, breath the same air. eat the same type of food. work side by side.

Any woman who is beautiful to me and has a nice personality is acceptable for me, I don't care what color she is.

I was a part of an interracial couple... all I have to say is that love is blind... it does not see color...

My cousins are half and half. I honestly see nothing wrong with interracial dating.. a long time ago people saw it taboo to date outside of your ethnicity nevermind race.

i agree that there is a huge difference on how u r looked at by where u live. chicago's people cristicism of other people is extreme. i have gone out with a few black woman and a few latinas and i always get dirrty looks and someone always says something to me no matter where i go. why cant people look past race and just let people follow their heart?

Hey tell them to not let it bother them, I dated a guy from the Middle East and when I told some people they said derogatory statments right to my face, at first it hurt, then I realized they are the ones with the problems. You cannot please everyone, even Jesus couldn't, so do your own thing, as long as you dont' hurt anyone it is your life. Infact, it makes you more interesting.

I am not from IL but, have date outside my race most of my life and that is just it---key word, Lifestyle. I still think that there is only one race so, interracial relationships are just a different flavor of relationships.
