Thailand is a nice place. if you want night life visit Pattaya . For exotic foods like bugs, street foods and drink try Khao San Road. Enjoy with your travel buddy

Thailand is beautiful and favours budget travellers too. I loved phi phi and Phuket, Bangkok was grear too but abit overwhelming.
