Topic: Favourite morning slumber nature sounds. | |
---|---|
Those sounds which evoke feelings as you are waking up.
As a child, staying at my grandma's house, waking up mid morning, to pigeons cooing in the trees by my window, and starlings and sparrows chirping off in the background, in a warm comfy bed, with breakfast moments away. As, or since a teenager, the sound of Hooded Plovers (a bird) protesting on takeoff in the morning reminds me of pre-dawn mist hanging and wafting on the glassy rivers, with ducks and swans gliding silently along making the first marks on the water. Not favourite: the garbage truck clanging and driving off as I wake up, and remember I was going to put the full garbage bin out. |

The bin truck? I was terrified of it when I was a kid. Same with the hoover. But we have a small river at the back of the house. Such a serene sound to hear the water flow

I often wake to the sound of ducks squabbling on the River Irwell, which has its source not far from here.

Wind blowing through the trees, especially in the summer, with the windows open.

|
Sound of waves crashing unto the beach, sound of a rainstorm on a chilly fall day, the sound of car tires crunching through a snowy, icy road while I am sitting by the woodstove thankful I'm not driving in that
