Just ordered myself a very nice carry on bag with wheels... it's a combination laptop and overnight bag. Makes traveling through the airports so much easier and the section for the laptop is separate so makes it easy to access when going through TSA.

It just arrived, very cool! It has a separate padded thingy, like a folder with a flap, for my laptop and a section for all the stuff that normally goes in my purse, and another section for paperwork or overnight clothes... in case the airport loses my suitcases. It's just a tad bigger than the one with a strap so it will fit under the seat or in the overhead just fine.

Airport stress... At least you're American from a domestic flight otherwise it's hell. Entering the US as a foreigner felt like being drawn, hung and quartered, haha.
I guess it's the same here.
But then I had the luxury of it being easier. I saw this African dude with some dead African bird wrapped in paper, he was not allowed to take it in the country of course. But he wasn't happy and put up quite the fuss.
Me happy I could go to the "Dutchies only" queue, haha.

Anywho, fingers crossed the walk from luggage claim to the curb isn't too long!

Thanks, it's easy peasy at both airports. The Fort Lauderdale airport baggage check is right inside the door, and baggage claim in Manchester is next to the exit door.

There are luggage carts too for the larger airports but usually even those are set up this way. Once you check your bags you have a long distance to walk to the gate. That's when you don't want a lot to carry.

The only exception was when I spent the night in the Denver airport. You can't check your luggage until 4 hours before the flight, so I had to lug it around with me everywhere I went in the terminal.

When I travel to Europe I will for sure travel lighter :)
