Rio de Janeiro during New Year's Eve and during Carnival...The dance, the music, and the vibrancy of the people is incredible and addictive...Been at least 4 times and would go again...And the food...great! Australia is my second choice...the friendliness of the Aussies just blows me away...love Perth and Canberra...Sydney is my third choice...learned how to drive on the wrong side of the road...and yes, i would definitely go again... Yes, that's why I loved Australians as well :) They haven't lost their innate European roots and touch. It's like being home only the landscape, weather, and language are different. Oh, and as you mentioned, they drive on the wrong side of the road, haha. I hope to go back as well one day :) Funny story about the Aussies and my first time in a bar...i ordered a Foster's...the whole bar said "Jesus Christ - Oh hell NO!"...they refused to give it to me and instead paid for my local beer the rest of the evening... I did win good money at the casino in Perth...playing "2 UP"... also if they still have the Manley Beach Jazz Festival and you like that kind of music, you will not be disappointed if the opportunity is there for you... ok...throat's dry...time for a Powers Bitter...hahaha Hihi, I think that's what mostly the English drank?? I had my own weird/funny experience on my first day in Australia, Darwin. We went to have dinner, also had fries with our meal. Now there was no mayonnaise. Since we're Dutch we need mayonnaise with our fries otherwise it's not edible. SO my mom and I went to this waiter and asked for mayonnaise. The young man blushed as if I'd made an indecent proposal, he got red as a tomato! I didn't get it, neither did my mom. I asked again, but the guy remained awkward. So we just left it at that. Later on I had fries in Alice Springs, but then I asked my roommate to get me some mayonnaise. I didn't want a similar awkward experience, haha. She got it, but a teaspoon full. Fat lot of good that's going to do! I still don't know why this guy got all weird. |

As one bro mentioned experiencing carnival in South America should be a lot of fun and I like to try different foods I watched it on TV Grace...For Brazilian food, I suggest a Churrascaria (chu-hask-ka-reeyah)...it is quite a culinary experience...and also Feijoada (fayz-wah-da)...if you happen to be in New York the Sunday before our Labor Day you can experience Brazilian Day. People come to West 46th Street not only from all over New York City but from all corners of the world to celebrate Brazil - the culture, music, dance, and food. |

England, or better said, the UK.
I always feel so good there! Once did a roundtrip, starting in Hull, then straight off the ferry to Holyhead, Wales, to spend time with family. We stopped along the way at Chester cos I wanted to. I liked it! After a few days in Wales, attending a family wedding, we drove through Snowdonia to Glastonbury, stayed there for 2 nights so I could see most of what I wanted. Chalice well, Wearyall Hill, the Abby etc. The Holy Thorn was still there then. Got butchered a few months later :( Then on to stay with friends in Southminster for a few days. We wanted to stop at Bath, but traffic was a nightmare. We did stop at Stonehenge so my then partner could see it. We didn't go in, almost closing time and sun was setting. It was a really good trip! |

Most of my out of country travels,
have been to Mexico and Canada. Always fun. Germany, I spent most of my time in Frankfurt, and vicinity. Lived there for awhile. The folks there, always treated me like I was home. Belfast was... Well, Belfast. I prefer Derry. And, as long as I can get a written guarantee, that there is no weird initiation stuff, (I heard stories in Belfast) I'd like to actually visit Ireland. |
