The Latest: WH tells 2 more former aides not to cooperate

"The White House is again directing former employees not to cooperate with a congressional investigation, this time instructing former aides Hope Hicks and Annie Donaldson not to provide documents to the House Judiciary Committee".

Ignoring a Congressional subpoena is a crime. They must be held in contempt of Congress, and any official directing this activity is obstructing justice. This democratic house was elected to evaluate and enforce executive oversight. I can understand Pelosi attempting to delay impeachment until the uninformed population recognizes the extent of corruption within this administration. The Mueller report findings must be made public, in a clear and concise manner to educate the uninformed, sway public opinion. Anyone who has read the Mueller report knows the extent of coordination with Russia and obvious obstruction. Our country and democracy are being destroyed. This must be stopped!

Trump continues to “obstruct” justice. Trump knows this is his last effort to save himself. I hope, Hicks, Donaldson, and others understand that Trump cannot save them from American justice.

Can tariffs on Mexico solve the immigration issue?

" President Trump announced the United States would impose a 5 percent tariff on all goods coming into the country from Mexico starting June 10, "until the Illegal Immigration problem is remedied." The tariffs would increase to as much as 25 percent in the months that follow".

"If the tariffs are put into effect, companies importing products from Mexico would pay an additional tax. Last year the United States imported nearly $350 billion in goods from Mexico. The impact of the tariffs could be felt in a wide number of industries, including automobile manufacturing, electronics and produce. "

American taxpayers paid over $90 billion more under Trump tax law

"Despite the majority of Americans receiving a tax cut, the IRS pulled in an additional $93 billion for 2018 from taxpayers on individual income taxes than it did for 2017, according to new data from the IRS. This is in part thanks to the Treasury Department processing 1.5% more individual returns for 2018 than 2017".

"After the passage of Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), the IRS encouraged taxpayers to update their withholdings, but few did. More than halfway through 2018, after the law took effect, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) warned that more Americans would owe money to the IRS under the new law while those receiving refunds would decrease. In the end, many Americans saw modest increases in their paychecks throughout the year but didn’t notice.

Instead, as people filed, many bemoaned getting smaller-than-anticipated refunds or even being hit with a “surprise” tax bill. "

A war is brewing between Trump and corporate America

"They may not like his combative style, but business leaders have applauded much of President Trump’s economic agenda. Trump slashed their taxes starting in 2018, sending profits soaring. And he’s killing regulations, making it easier for business to operate.

But the honeymoon is ending as a tariff-happy Trump disrupts supply chains all over the world and threatens some U.S. companies outright. Businesses are responding to Trump’s escalating tariffs on imports from China, Mexico and other countries by curtailing investment, which will weaken the economy as Trump is heading for reelection in 2020. And investors unnerved by trade and immigration wars are selling stocks and other risky assets, signaling concern about economic damage Trump may be causing—and even a possible recession. The S&P 500 stock index is down 7% since the end of April, largely on trade worries".

Democrat's are beating the drum that placing tariffs on Mexico will hurt the economy. Probably will, in the short term!. The subject they refuse to address (as usual) is letting in millions of Central Americans in (100,000 per month) will do as much damage, long term. Of course the news and democrat's never address that they come over with nothing, live off of welfare, some are criminals and are overloading the medical systems, especially, of the boarder states. We constantly see news briefs about our own homeless. Our commitment should be to them and not to the poor of other nations.

Pelosi is being placed in a corner by these new socialist democrats. She knows very well that there is no proof of Russiagate or collusion. She has enough sense to see the national tide turning against the "We hate Trump" politicians. The sudden demise of the Green New Deal had to have given an awakening call to those with political and economic sense. I say "Let them keep up their noise". They are turning middle class America off Big Time: and Pelosi knows it.Everyone in the area where I live is asking "Why do they want to Impeach the President"? Meuller's report exonerated him

They hate the president and resent what he stands for. They all say America first but their policies would do just what the last three presidents did: Give America away and support world governance and a one world financial system.

Anyone who says Trump was exonerated, is flat out lying. Or ignorant to what's really going on. Mr. Mueller made clear that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential race in “sweeping and systematic fashion,” which Mr. Trump has denied; that the interference was designed to help Mr. Trump; and that the Trump campaign was happy to accept the help, which is morally repulsive.

Mueller Finds No Trump-Russia Conspiracy but Stops Short of Exonerating President on Obstruction

"YouTube will also work to remove content that promotes misinformation, including conspiracy theories denying tragic events, like the Holocaust or the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Last year, YouTube banned right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who was well known for promoting conspiracies about the Sandy Hook shooting".

There is no doubt that Russia interfered with the 2016 Presidential election. The end result of this was helping the Republican candidate who happened to be Trump. While Mueller never identified why the Russians got involved, I believe it was by the direction of Putin. In the same way Democrats hate Trump and will do whatever to destroy him, Putin hates Clinton and his goal was to destroy her and her defeat did that. Mueller concluded that there was no collusion between the Russians and the Trump campaign.

There is still the question of obstruction with different political groups seeing it differently. This question will never be answered to the satisfaction of all parties involved but probably will be raised many times during the 2020 election. Personally, it is not a question that has any significance to supporting or not supporting Trump for reelection.

D-Day and The Greatest Generation

It's fashionable to call the WW2 generation (my parents) The Greatest Generation. Politicians and news casters all have used this phrase. But what made them so great?

Obviously I grew up with my parents generation and I can say without a doubt today's politicians and news media would resent living and being in government during The Greatest Generation's time:

1. My parents generation felt life is sacred and abortion is state justified murder.

2. Homosexuality was abnormal. It is natural for men and women to be attracted to each other. Same sex marriage would never have been considered during their day.
3. College and university professors didn't teach that socialism is a much better economic system than capitalism (at the time they were facing the USSR).
4. Colleges and universities would allow differences of opinions to be discussed. In today's universities if one presents something of a conservative or Christian nature they are made fun of and in some cases told to leave the school.
5. Freedom of religion meant the state kept out. Freedom of Religion wasn't reinterpreted as Freedom From Religion.

6. First Amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This means for or against. The government is not to make laws promoting or restricting religion

7. They understood helping the poor because they lived through the depression of the 1930's But their goal was work: not free government handouts. If you could get a job you could eat. If you expected government handouts you starved. "Root hog or die" was the statement of the day. look it up on google if unfamiliar.

One year ago our city government passed an ordnance against pan handlers standing at stop lights asking for money. I could understand 10 years ago during the recession but every other company has help wanted signs displayed. One company HR manager walked out and offered the guy a job. The pan handler said "I make more an hour than you could ever hope to pay me". For a while each corner was staked out by the same person everyday. Someone who has a valid disability needs help but we still have President Johnsons's "Great Society" mentality. I DESERVE WHAT I WANT AND THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD GIVE IT TO ME. All that ideology did was make minorities dependent on the government and not be self reliant.

Trump insults Mueller and Pelosi at U.S. military cemetery in France

He's scared of Pelosi and Mueller. But mostly Pelosi. He knows it's just a matter of time before the Democrats get him. Eventually, all the subpoenas will be answered. He's only going to be able to obstruct them for so long. That's why he can't keep his mouth shut about it while traveling to other countries. Pelosi has taken up residence in Trump's brain. This was about honoring D day military veterans. But, as usual, Trump had to try to make it about him.

The Trump Administration’s Treatment of Migrant Children is a Travesty

"The Trump administration’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced that it’s discontinuing or scaling back recreational, legal, and educational services for detained unaccompanied migrant minors. That means a loss of soccer games, a loss of English classes, and a loss of legal aid. The request will undoubtedly make life worse for the thousands of immigrant children detained in HHS facilities, but the department claims it does not have the funds to continue services and must instead prioritize “safety”. But let’s not kid ourselves. If Trump wanted migrant children to be cared for, they would be cared for. Instead, the administration has long seen children as pawns in the immigration fight, in blatant disregard of both child development and, most likely, the law. So much for being a country that cares about children".

New York Offers Up Trump's State Tax Returns—But One Lawmaker Stands in the Way

"(Bloomberg) -- House Democrats clamoring for Donald Trump’s tax information have eagerly awaited a newly passed New York law allowing limited access to the president’s state returns.

They’re about to be sorely disappointed.

House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal would be the only Democrat allowed by the new law to ask for the documents, but so far he has said he won’t do it.

Neal has said he fears that getting the state returns would bolster Trump administration arguments that Congress is on a political fishing expedition -- and not, as Neal has claimed, overseeing the Internal Revenue Service’s annual audits of the president.

But Neal’s patience may wear thin if a lengthy legal battle with the Trump administration looms while the 2020 presidential campaign heats up and Democratic voters want to see the House hold Trump accountable".
