Take a look at what socialism has done to Venezuela ... thousands in the street. thankfully there's a lot of territory between us and them. The US is going to back the protesters Interim President... get that dictator out of there. and once again, If there the cliffs along the Rio Grande are too tall to climb, use some drones and heliocopters, but ANY empty space needs a wall. If anyone here wants to spend money to feed the illegals and pay for them to learn Inglis do so. What are YOU doing to help our Native Americans forced onto lousy land called Reservations? what is that - double-talk????

BUILD THAT WALL
I have the right to remain silent but I don't have the ability.

it is always VERY EASY to tell when somebody just takes a few talking points they heard on FAUXnews,or on the rush Limbaugh show,and didn't do any actual research into something themselves!!!

the problem with socialism in Venezuela is the fact that the government was corrupt,and instead of using all of their socialist programs to help the normal citizens of its country,like they were SUPPOSED TO,they took all of the money and basically just gave it to the corrupt politicians that their government is infected with!
[maybe you have heard about the mobster who is currently the president who illegally rigged the election to keep himself in power??]

so,in REALITY,Venezuela isn't a socialist country..it is a DICTATORSHIP!!!

in a toxic environment like THAT,though,where the government is corrupt,NO form of government is going to work!!!

just look at OUR country...
we live in a 'democracy',but now that the government has turned corrupt,and doesn't serve the PEOPLE anymore...just the rich and powerful,WE aren't doing very well either,are we??
[and,its only going to continue to get WORSE,if we dont do something to take back control of it from the people who are running it for the benefit of the super wealthy,and powerful!!]

but,i think that it is par for the course that none of you fauxsters,or dittoheads talks about the FACT that VIRTUALLY EVERY OTHER MAJOR COUNTRY IN SOUTH AMERICA HAS ALSO PRACTICED SOCIALISM,AND MOST OF THEM ARE DOING JUST FINE!!!!

[I wonder WHY they never mention THOSE COUNTRIES on FAUX,or rush?????]
[NO,i dont!!!] lol

here...
have a little education....its on me!!!

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/global-opinions/wp/2018/08/21/no-venezuela-doesnt-prove-that-socialism-will-bring-about-a-zombie-apocalypse/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.582051ff7385

"Since the turn of the century, every big country in South America except Colombia has elected a socialist president at some point. Socialists have taken power in South America’s largest economy (Brazil), in its poorest (Bolivia) and in its most capitalist (Chile). Socialists have led South America’s most stable country (Uruguay) as well as its most unstable (Ecuador). Argentina and Peru elected leftists who, for various reasons, didn’t refer to themselves as socialists — but certainly governed as such.

Mysteriously, the supposedly automatic link between socialism and the zombie apocalypse skipped all of them. Not content with merely not-collapsing, a number of these countries have thrived.

Take Peru. When Ollanta Humala, widely seen as one of the most radical hard-left leaders in the region, was elected president in 2011, 28 percent of Peruvians were poor. In office, Humala governed from the left, but sensibly, investing in the poor while nurturing economic growth. By the time he handed over power in 2016 (peacefully, to a right-wing successor), just 21 percent of Peruvians were poor.

Some argue that it was Humala’s relative moderation that averted disaster. But look across his southeastern border. In Bolivia, a hard-core socialist, Evo Morales, has been in power since 2006. Morales’s tenure lays waste to any notion that countries succeed only under “moderates” — he’s a proper extremist, a hard-leftist who nationalized the nation’s most lucrative industry, and it’s an incontestable fact that he has handled the nation’s finances with prudence and scored real social achievements along the way. According to the World Bank, under Morales poverty in Bolivia fell by a third, with none of the economic chaos Venezuela has seen."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GEE!!...I wonder why they only want to look through a pinhole at the very worst example,instead of letting you take the blinders off,and see the BIG picture??
I will answer that question for you...its because they dont want you to have to REAL FACTS,because THEN,you wouldn't be so easily manipulated for their own purposes.
maybe you might want to start actually doing the RESEARCH it takes to have a well informed opinion about things,instead of just swallowing the propaganda that people are feeding you for their own agenda?
[GOOGLE is your friend!!!]
First of all, anyone who would quote the post is obviously a left winger who doesn't understand fact from opinion. The post is 90% opinion!
Some level of socialism is necessary, we have that here today. The problem is that most socialist economies do not reinvest enough in their economies to keep them growing. Anytime the government gives something to the people, they demand more. Unless you, as a government, are willing to say no when people demand too much you get a Venezuela!
oh...
I see what the problem is now....
you dont know the definition of the words 'fact',and 'opinion'
and,you MIGHT want to do a little bit of research into "Bolivia",and "Peru"
[google is your friend!!]
affordable does not mean 'free'
People wanting or believing 'everyone should get everyone free' are probably about as prominent as those thinking 'all guns should be banned', or 'every mile of the border needs a wall'
ACA Savings
http://www.thebalance.com/cbo-report-obamacare-3305627
What you report as ACA savings shows how the ACA reduced (saved) other program costs. It also counted as savings from the added fees and taxes of the ACA which added money to the government programs. Extra taxes and fees that the government collects is not a savings but an expense to those who are required to pay it. It is like the government saying there was a cut to some program when the increase was less than expected. Nothing was actually "cut" or "saved"!
or, its like saying we spent 200 more on grocery this month, but we spent 300 less for the utilities and car insurance, a NET savings in our budget.
there are SEVERAL different stories of what happened there that day,in that one instance,depending on where you decide you want to look,but that still doesn't change the fact that racists have adopted the red MAGA hat as a symbol of their beliefs,and just because somebody doesn't want to accept the fact that it is a common enough occurrence that people are starting to make the association between red MAGA hats,and racism
angs of people wearing red MAGA hats leaving a republican club meeting in new york,and then screaming homophobic slurs at people before starting to beat several of them?
hmmm sounds like national Enquirer stories. Just because someone wears a white hat with a tractor on it doesnt mean they hate Blacks. Just because a Black Rapper sings filthy songs doesnt mean he hates whites. Good grief, our flag is red white and blue and many died so that we YOU - ME all of us have freedom of speech. There is so much BS connected to MAGA hats, pushed by CNN and liberal newspapers. I say let people wear what they want. You do NOT know what is in their mind, only what is on their head.
I agree. The outside tells you how people want to appear. However, there are apparel and groups that are going to appeal to bigots by their nature, intentionally or not. For instance, MAGA may appeal to bigots who are fondly remembering the days where white males reigned and see Trump as a way to have those 'great' days 'again'. However, the movement also appeals to many who are remembering days of 'family values' or being 'world leaders' in this or that.
Just like black racists may be drawn to the Black Lives Matter if their belief is that Only black lives matter. However, the movement also appeals to many who are fed up of the disparate value black lives are given in the justice system and believe they should "matter" as much as any other life.
Just like the lazy may be drawn to democrats because of the belief that the party supports 'handouts'. However, the party appeals to many because of the belief that the party supports assisting American citizens with attaining equal opportunities and treatment.
Just like the corrupt may be drawn to the republicans because of the belief that the party is for less oversight into their corrupt practices. However, the party appeals to many because of their belief that the party supports individual 'freedoms' for each individual to do mostly whatever they want without oversight or regulation.
Just about an pro group, by its nature, will attract its fair share of 'anti' people. We have to be careful to know that people can be pro something without being anti anything as well.
The old saying is Don't judge a book by its cover.
I think we could also say Don't judge a person by the hat he/she wears.
Guess what - many of the most prominent liberals have had literal walls around their estates for YEARS - or live in gated communities with security guards.
They know something we are just now finding out....we need to keep unwanted people OUT.
To make ANY assumption about a person based on ONE thing is bigoted.
thank you for the voice of reason. Is it not hypocritical of these people to ridicule someone over a hat while giving a pass to Antifa, BLM, Occupy, ACORN, and the other dozens of VIOLENT political hacks paid for by Soros to advance the Open Border Society?
I mean, if you look into EVERY single charge of racism over the last few years where they tried to pin it on Trump, you'll find nothing but frauds getting caught in their lies.
Jesse Smollet anybody? It's criminal how the shrill voices of the Democrat echo chamber keep trying, and it only keeps blowing in their faces. Trump is not a racist, nor has he ever been, but those who ARE keep trying to project it onto him. Takes one to know one, I guess, but it bounces off because it ain't true.
I grew up in a town run on racism. My family fought those ignorant bastages and I can tell you that a REAL racist says "thank you" when you call him one. This phony attempt at humiliation only works on people who are not racist.
But isn't rich how the party who divides people by race wants us to listen when they say someone else is a racist? Truly and utterly pathetic. They think we're all stupid. Unfortunately there are enough who are...on the left.
I think there is obviously confusion about judging the words and actions of an INDIVIDUAL with an INDIVIDUAL choice, and painting a whole group because of choices of the INDIVIDUALS within it ...
And there are many levels of racism. I have never gone so far as to make the charge against Trump personally, though I could start another thread on how 99.9 percent of AMerians raised in public education and main frame media have some level of racism in them ...
but the government did decide he and his father were guilty of Housing discrimination against blacks, and he did take out a full page ad for the execution of five black kids charged with rape in NYC, while making sure to point out how 'some' of the white nationalists in charlottesville were good people.
he is definitely not an exception to american racism,,, just saying.
That sounds quite a bit more reasonable than what we get from the MSM. Thank you for that.
In my opinion, and it's only that...everyone in America has some vestige of racism but most of us have evolved and are still evolving. Until we can ALL admit to that, nothing is going to change.
Racism is simply an ignorant fear of someone based on outward appearance. Of the 2 cases you just cited, I don't think it's fair to assume racism was the root of Trump's intent, since he was also very supportive of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton in the 80s.
In the case of those renters, it's could just as easily be blamed on economic discrimination. Keeping lower class renters out has been going on since cave men built homes, and only last May I found many places where I wouldn't be allowed to rent a house because of my fluctuating income....or lack of rental history (I've always owned).
Trump has said a few things that could be interpreted as racist, but I look at a person's actions more than their words. Trump has a long career and, if he were truly a racist, it could be proven definitively.
I'm sorry but I just don't see it, so that actually only serves to endear him to the people who got tired of being labeled racist when we disagreed with the policies of Obama. It's just a weak argument that insults the intelligence of most Americans.
No, I believe the people trying to convince you to be angry at Trump are the real problem. They don't mind manipulating your anger for their lust of power.
I think people trying to convince people to be 'angry' at any stranger is a problem, whether its Trump, Hilary, or OBama.
just as disagreeing does not mean racism, it also doesnt mean hate or anger ... at worst, his constant childishness and tantrums and lies disgust me ... but it takes a whole lot more to make me angry at anyone.
