Too much talking and people loose interest, you need to meet up quickly in my opinion, but if they live hundreds of miles away you do need to know more about them before travelling a long distance. It's a bit of a gamble, do you take the risk and travel or become pen friends to learn more, when maybe the interest is lost. Whatever you decide, it's better not to sit on the fence talking for too long.
