...But that's OK. November is coming. Really, the GOP has set the stage for there own loss.

How will you respond if the democrat's don't do so well? No one knows how this will turn out. I, for one, do not trust network "POLLS". We'll all have to vote and then see what the people decide.

Don't Confirm Brett Kavanaugh, Says Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens

"Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens said Thursday that he does not support the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

Kavanaugh “had the qualifications” to be a Supreme Court justice but his behavior at a hearing last week ― where he defended himself against allegations of sexual assault by blaming Democrats seeking “revenge on behalf of the Clintons” ― was inappropriate and disqualifying, Stevens said. "

Kind of like when Ginsberg went on the attack against Trump? She could have been removed from the bench for that but you didn't see Republicans go ape $hit and make up fake accusations.

How America feels about Trump

"Most Americans think President Donald Trump isn't doing a good job, according to the latest POLITICO/Morning Consult poll. Compared with last week's numbers, Trump's approval rating rose by 3 percent, while his disapproval rating dropped by 2 points."

http://www.politico.com/interactives/2017/politico-morning-consult-poll/

Yes, I know this is a poll. And polls change. But, one thing that has stayed pretty close to the same is Trump's overall approval rating. Trump is hurting himself with his own mouth. He says things that he really shouldn't. Because of that, I believe it will be his downfall. Amongst other things. Blowing off his mouth about Ford, That just wasn't smart. How he talks about women in general, that's not smart either.

Taking credit for things he didn't do, not smart. When he became president if he had taken office and kept his tweets to himself and his distaste for certain people to himself, I would say his chances are pretty good. But he's letting his mouth get the best of him. And that's not smart. His mouth will be his downfall.

We now will have Justice Kavanaugh. And Joe Manchin-D decided to vote for Kavanaugh also. Perhaps Manchin can start leading a novel group called "Moderate democrats"

Minutes after Sen. Susan Collins announced her support for Brett Kavanaugh, the site to fund her opponent was so overwhelmed that it crashed

"Minutes after Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine announced her decision to vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, a site raising money for Collins' eventual opponent in her 2020 reelection bid crashed".

Hillary spent almost 1.2 billion, and lost. Throwing money at a campaign does not always mean the victor spent more than the loser.

People waste money all the time.

Did Democrats overplay their hand on Kavanaugh?

"District Media Group President Beverly Hallberg, Capri Cafaro, former Ohio State Senate minority leader, and Fox News contributor Deroy Murdock on how Democrats mismanaged Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation process".

http://www.yahoo.com/finance/video/did-democrats-overplay-hand-kavanaugh-234754632.html

You can't overplay a hand when some of the cards are missing. Many of the witnesses for Ford were never contacted. The deck was stacked against her to start with. It's such as this is why I can't be a Republican or a Democrat.

Both people were railroaded. Kavanaugh in a position he's not qualified to be in. His testimony proved that. And Ford, like what she went through didn't matter. She was railroaded away. Under a rug somewhere. This is what our government has come too.

Congratulations to Susan Collins' Future Opponent, Who Has Raised $3 Million on Crowdpac

"After Republican Senator Susan Collins announced she would vote "yes" to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh for Supreme Court Justice, plans were already in motion to find her replacement in the 2020 election.

According to Rolling Stone, a crowdfunding campaign created by the Maine's People Alliance raised more than $2 million in funds for the future Democratic opponent, prior the senator's speech. The Crowdpac was created in hopes to sway Collins' vote. Once it was clear that Collins would be voting "yes," the site was inundated with donations. The Washington Post reports the Crowdpac crashed by 3:55 p.m and went back up about two hours later. "

Sounds like she pissed off many of her constituents.

I agree. Ford should have been heard and K should have been investigated, the political grandstanding that occurred in the meantime, however, was a farce and an embarassment. I was speaking with someone who made a good point about why justices serve a lifetime. They said it was to keep things from becoming political, to keep the potential for the justice to make decisions fairly and without concern to constituents, or reelections, or lobbying, just to the law.

That reality tv we witnessed with this nominee did little however to support the claim that the position is not supposed to be a political one.

Former Yale Law School Dean: Kavanaugh's Confirmation Is An 'American Tragedy'

In Part,

"“He had apparently concluded that the only way he could rally Republican support was by painting himself as the victim of a political hit job,” Post said of Kavanaugh and the way the judge had attempted to defend himself from the accusations of sexual assault and harassment. “He, therefore, offered a witches’ brew of vicious unfounded charges, alleging that Democratic members of the Senate Judicial Committee were pursuing a vendetta on behalf of the Clintons. If we expect judges to reach conclusions based solely on reliable evidence, Kavanaugh’s savage and bitter attack demonstrated exactly the opposite sensibility.”

It sounds like the same Republican rhetoric. Blame the Democrats for everything. Blame Clinton or Obama.

Kavanaugh has an outburst of stupidity right in front of the Senate Judicial Committee that shows just what kind of judge he might be, but it's the Democrats fault. It sounds to me like we will now have an "Alex Jones" type sitting on our highest court.

That's all we need is some far-right conspiracy theorists on the bench.

As far as the priests go, it shows a lot. It's a huge statement when the worlds largest church no longer wishes to back a president. The church always backs the Republicans. It always has. For the priests to stop backing a president, it's huge. That's millions of people that priests come in contact with.

In other words, the people of the church will follow whatever the priest says. This is a big deal for Republicans. We are talking millions of votes here. Trump just threw them away. A very stupid move.

You should read a little closer,

The reversal is significant given Kavanaugh has repeatedly cited his Catholic faith and Jesuit education in defending himself against Ford's accusations. In his opening statement Thursday, Kavanaugh twice referenced his years as a student at the Jesuit-run Georgeown Prep school in Maryland. Ford has accused a drunken Kavanaugh of assaulting her at a house party in the summer of 1982, when he was a student at the school. Kavanaugh has vigorously denied her claims.

It matters a lot.
