What gives you the right to question GOD!!!!!!!!!!

Every living being has an innate right to question their creator.

Moreover, every intelligent person has a responsibility to question religions and religious dogma. After all, you wouldn’t want to worship a dogma that wasn’t really of God would you???????

For example, if people didn’t question Greek Mythology we’d all still be worshiping Zeus!

Exactly. What gives anyone of you the right to question Osiris, Zeus, Odin, Ishtar, Brahma, Ahura Mazda, Allah, Neptune, Loki, Byelobog, Thor, Omikami, Tangaroa, Apollo, etc. etc. either (yawn)? huh

If those Gods are so great why doesn't a billion people follow them?

One hears very little about those Gods of mythology and Greek history.

I for one will never underestimate who anyone worships. But, I will pray that they be forgiven if I am right in my belief. Which; I believe I am. Now...this is MY BELIEF, not saying I want to force it on you.

Tomie,

That's a straw man argument. The topic concerned ancient texts and Buddhist teachings, and you claimed Buddha didn't influence the Bible OR (emphasis mine) the teachings of Jesus Christ. That's not what the evidence I cited shows. Please read carefully.

Further, I Ching and some of the Upanishads predate the earliest OT texts, and the Dhammapada and Bhagavad Gita predate the NT.

Thanks for the input. Hope that helps.

yzzrabbit: "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

If you are God you cannot forsake yourself."
.........

yzrabbit, did you even read the passage out of the bible?

Psalm 22:1 is addressed: "to the cheif musician: set to the tune of Aijeleth Hashshahar (the hind of the morning dawn). A Psalm of DAVID. -Amplified Bible, pub by Zondervan.
DAVID.
DAAAVID.
Not Jesus, DAVID.

Are you trying to say David was up on the cross? Cause if you are you are the first person to ever make that comment.

I'll bet she can't.

Matthew 19:26

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

when Jesus died on the cross the Trinity was broken or seperated for the first time in eternity.

This of course is the only answer. That God can do anything he wants. So he does the impossible and abandons himself so that he can do something to really show his people who is God. He has his newly abandoned body and mind scream out "my God my God why have you forsaken me?" Thus removing all doubt about the divinity of Jesus forever. laugh

We have explained it many times, but either we haven't done a good enough job or you are ignoring the answer. I will assume it is the former and explain it to you again.

The Trinity is three beings, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

God the Father has never submitted himself to anothers will, so He is God over all, including Jesus.

Jesus submitted himself to the Father's will, but is still sovereign over all creation. Jesus is called the Son, because He submitted Himself to God's will, not because he is literally a child.

The Holy Spirit submitted himself to the Father and Son's will, but is still God in all respects.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all equally God. God is an object of worship, in this case God is a term to describe the collective trinity.

Each one of them has their own mind and the Father and Son are joined in Spirit by the Holy Spirit. We each have our own spirit, but the Father and Son share a spirit.

God turned away from Jesus. Those who know God, can feel his presence when He so wills it. God chose to hide his presence from Jesus while Jesus was on the cross. God did that, because Jesus had receive all humanities sins onto his person.

That's how Jesus can be forsaken by God. Because when Jesus wasn't talking of the Trinity, Jesus was speaking of God the Father specifically.

My dearest sweatiest feracatlady you are the one that birthed me with your evolution vs creation thread. Except I am not being so deceptive as to put a vs in my title. I am discussing an issue that has perplexed me my whole life. Even now that I know that it was just flawed men that put this in the Bible why would they? I have learned many things from this thread and been very enlightened. I think this is probably a big difference from people who are tapped into Gods one and only truth and people like me who are open to information. I have learned from this thread that they put that in the new testament to match up with the comments from the old testament. I started out believing one thing and here at this point my mind thinks something completely different. Can you point that out in one of your threads?

I have done it so many times cutiful rabbit.....that I would have to say no.....I's done....stick a fork in me done......If you don't want to listen.....Then honestly the Lord will never reveal himself to you.....So you just keep up the search and ignore the obvious....It doesn't effect me one way or the other.....Because I know the truth......so good luck in your search.

Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

This flies in the face of the whole story.

If with God all things are possible, then God could have easily forgiven mankind all his sins without any need to have himself nailed onto a pole.

To say that with God all things are possible is to simply say that the crucifixion wasn’t necessary.

All Matthew is saying here is that God can clearly do whatever he wants. If he had himself nailed to a pole then this must have been what he wanted. To say that the crucifixion was necessarily for a God that can do anything he wants is an inconsistency and contradiction.

The story is fully of inconsistencies and contractions like these. Any attempt to rationalize them must always meet with doom.
