Topic: What makes you angry, and why? | |
---|---|
I can't remember the last time I got 'angry' - .. disgusted? annoyed? irritated? probably every day..
If a situation arises,.. speak your peace and carry on. do not carry any grudges. |

When one loses their temper, one loses control. Anger is not a requirement, to right a "serious wrong". Being angry doesn't mean one loses control. A person can be angry and handle their anger without losing control. Anger is an emotion, neither right or wrong. It's how we handle our emotions that matters. I'll agree with you, inasmuch as, "it's how we handle our emotions". However, if one allows anger to take over, they're not "handling" very well. "Anger is an emotion." Why yes, yes it is. Anger is a very strong emotion. And again, when one allows a strong emotion, such as anger to take over, they lose control of their reasoning and focus. Travel light, lose anger. |

I get that, but what is the definition of ignorance? Just a matter of opinion or? Ignorance is lack of knowledge. It can be rectified by teaching the one that is ignorant. There are a lot of people that are ignorant of the word ignorant. They tend to use the word to describe rude, insensitive, sarcastic or other negative behaviors other people display. They are in fact ignorant of the meaning of ignorance. It's kinda funny if ya think about it. I know... we're all supposed to be
the ever happy crew online. Who told you that? The idea of "happy all the time" is a delusion. Nobody is "happy all the time", ever. Human beings are complex social creatures with a whole range of natural emotions that allow us to deal with the things we encounter in life. Being angry doesn't mean one loses control. A person can be angry and handle their anger without losing control.
Anger is an emotion, neither right or wrong. It's how we handle our emotions that matters. The way I describe it; there's anger and then there's mad. Anger is the enotion and mad is how you carry it. Madness is the act of being angry with everything, all the time. When you gain emotional maturity, you control your emotions, they don't control you. Losing one's temper IS a weakness. But how much are people supposed to take?
Being angry and losing your temper are two different things. There is application for both in social interactions. The problems occur when we choose poorly in how we express ourselves. You can't unsay something, you can't undo an action. You can correct the offense by performing another action or saying more words but once the deed is done or the words are heard, they're out there. When we get mad, we tend to forget this. Anger is a very strong emotion.
And again, when one allows a strong emotion, such as anger to take over, they lose control of their reasoning and focus. Travel light, lose anger. There are a lot of people who don't have control of their emotions. Its not just anger, all their emotions are rampant. The ones that are constantly mad usually feel that life has dealt them some type of injustice. They are locked into a negative mindset. When this happens, no matter what they encounter in life, they see it with a negative slant. When you go looking for negative, all you find is negative. I get angry sometimes when dealing with doctors that don't give a damn about my well-being. This is because I know what drives them. Any incompetence can make me angry but I don't get mad. Getting mad will not fix the problem. Since I can't make the world act competently there is no reason to hold on to the anger. I feel my anger, know what it is and let it pass. I have a baseline in contentment. It is contentment on a positive slant. Being positively content allow me to feel positive emotions easily. Negative emotions are seldomly felt and when I do feel them, I have focus on them so I don't do or say something I wouldn't normally say or do. I have emotional control. So, yes there are things that make me angry but I don't allow anger to control me. |

Doesn't it really take more than that... my..my...:) Yes, What angers me is people mostly, or maybe it's me. People do a lot of things that anger me. People bumbling around with their face glued to their phone, people that don't know how to use a sidewalk, when someone offers to help, but really is just looking for what's in it for them, etc. IDK, maybe it's me I'm really angry at and I see people in general as an easy target. Maybe I just hate people anymore. It's hard to say. |

If people want to look at their phone bumping into me, well, let them. Understanding your anger when trying to help people when only doing it for their own benifit I understand too... So all in all, I think we agree. |

Dumbass drivers going really slow in the left lanes...
|
|
|
|
all six lanes have the same speed limit.
If I'm driving 5-6 mph over the speed limit, I don't move. If they need to go 80, they can figure out their own way. |

Cant say I rise to the occasion of 'anger'. Like someone else said, I feel disgusted (some people literally turn my stomach with their words or actions on times)
or frustrated but I cant describe it as anger so much, that seems kind of extreme. but things that turn my stomach are hateful bigotry, bullying, selfishness, bourgeois judgmentalism, laziness, and willful ignorance. Inconsistency and hypocrisy frustrate me. |
