Yes marriage is important. It creates stability for raising children. It's a partnership of two people working together. Each with their own strengths.

Look at society today with all the illegitimate kids. Some don't even know who dad is and no stable environment. They grow up and repeat the cycle because they haven't been taught the value of family.

A friend of mine just had her 3rd illegitimate grandchild. It makes me sad. She needs to take time off work and teach her kids family values.

Sadly, nearly half of all marriages end in divorce which is not a very encouraging statistic, yet many of us still choose marriage over co-habitation, because it shows a level of total commitment to the relationship, which for me is very important. I believe marriage is very important for our society as well, marriage provides the basis for a partnership and family life for people in love, and it has served society well for generations in my opinion.
