Checking websites Will be heading out to the DMV again, I hope they're open, I really don't want to have to drive 60 miles round trip just to deal with the DMV. I have about a week to renew my license before it expires. Today is not a good health day but at least the heat index is below 100 with storms in the forecast. |

Maybe tomorrow I'll hit the DMV? this reminds me of a story told to me by a nurse friend. in his earlier days he was a fireman, and before that a professional motorcycle racer. even before that he was but a young kid who, on his 16th birthday wanted nothing more than to get his license...his 2 wheel license. his "local" dmv was an hour away, and on his learners permit he drove it...through a thunderstorm, in the pouring rain. when he arrived there was but one vehicle in the test area, with an incredulous, sleepy eyed officer inside who awoke with a start at the tapping on the window. "yes?" "i'm here to take my test" "where did you come from?" the boy told him. the officer looked at the soaked wet rat of a kid atop his bike and said simply..."you pass".
