If your looking for a soul mate, the first thing that he/she may see is your photograph. That one single item will cause that person to say no, maybe or yes. There are a lot of incredible people out there with horrible photos. As a photographer, let me help and provide some tips. Get someone to take your profile picture for you, an outstretched arm is not attractive, turn on the flash, choose a respectable darker background, and never have your chest square to the camera, (it makes you look wide). Turn your body at a 45 degree to the camera, look into the camera, and for goodness sakes light up those eyes and smile...LOL

This is probably why a lot of profiles have photos "Borrowed" from celebrities or the internet. Nobody wants to look at a natural photo when there are so many "Good Ones" already out there to be used.

If your looking for a soul mate... I always thought this was kinda funny and sad. If you're looking for a soul mate and your soul is leading you to the internet rather than out in the world to explore your bliss and interact with people participating in something meaningful, what is that saying about your soul, especially if you're sitting online for months to years "searching" or playing the "just here for forums" game with yourself. If your soul is leading you to find someone who has been lead to sit on the internet waiting (or dating random strangers) for months or years, what does that say about both of you. |

what does that say about both of you Well, I have no idea what it says about anyone else but... What it says about me is... I am not 'looking' for my soul mate. I'm not 'looking' for a date. I'm online now because I am physically unable to regularly 'do' much else. Being online and participating in forum communities allows me to interact with other people where I normally would be interacting with nobody. If, while interacting online, a woman finds my personality interesting, she might contact me, to know me a bit better. However, my personal contentment does not hinge on such contact. I'm here because I find value in the entertainment it provides. |
