At some point we have to spend some time in them, don't we?

What is your favorite part of being in an airport (if there is a such a thing!)?

I myself do like the local 'flair' of each.

Seeing family waiting for me, watching people being kinda reunited when others see their family.
All the body language as everyone around them kinda ceases to exist and they're focused only on whom they're meeting.

I also like seeing all the women that dress basically like hookers.
Are 8 inch heels and a miniskirt really the best thing to wear on a cramped, packed flight, surrounded by people, possibly sitting around in a plane for hours? Really?

I enjoy seeing the regional "fashion" differences too.
Comparing all the people flying to Texas vs. Seattle vs. Iowa vs. New York.

It's fun to watch foreign tourists trying to figure out English instructions.

Other than that, I like looking at peoples luggage and wonder what they got in there. Full of drugs? Sex toys? Parrots?
I sat next to a couple on a flight that told me they had 4 suitcases full of frozen meat. They bought a bunch of hams on sale. And that reminded me of the Mythbusters episode where they shot frozen chickens at an airplane and I kept thinking a ham would fall out of the plane and get into the engine.

I also like sitting in the boarding area and thinking about herpes.
As a percentage, it's highly likely a lot of the people going through the airport have some kind of STD.

I have spent a lot of time in airports in my travels and can relate to just about everything you said.
But never thought about herpes or STD's....that's just too funnylaugh laugh

I worked for an airline for 20 years and am very familiar with airports. Oh the things I have seen in my years dealing with passengers.

I only like them if I'm picking up a friend. Otherwise, I despise them.

I recently spent the night in the Denver Airport. I liked the little lounge area on level 6, it over looked the busy part of the airport but gave you a comfy feeling. Security was great, you could fall asleep and not worry about someone walking off with your luggage. It was one of the cleanest airports I've been in as well.

The best part was the bagel shop that was open all night... really good coffee!

I like it when the taxi driver gets back. His name is Ted Striker.

Last time I flew was at the end of april 2001.
I love flying. I think airplanes are cool to ride on.
I absolutely, positively hate airports.
To the point that I know I will never fly again.

I don't even like going to airports to pick people up.
I'll do it, but I'll hate every second.
Madhouse, insanity I tell ya!

I feel the same way about driving in major cities.

The airport is the only place to get Cinnabon in my area. Everything is brighter with a Cinnabon in hand. biggrin

Good answers, particularly those involving Cinnabons. ;)

I would like to give a shout out to LAX for being both overwhelming but lux. You'll rush through that airport but enjoy your experience, haha.

I’m at that airport fairly often. Dallas, Denver, and O’Hare. One time I hit up Pittsburgh. The girl that sat next to me from Austin to OHare I saw later on the train thing in Pittsburgh. Weird how it seems some people follow you across multiple flights.
