Topic: Armageddon is it Literal or Spiritual? | |
---|---|
Reality is all the stuff you experience in life and it doesn't care what you super-impose on it to make your own sense of it all. It doesn't matter if its the Bible, the Necronomicon or The World of Warcraft. Just because you believe it, doesn't make it reality. Reality is just reality. It doesn't have passion or foreboding. Those are entirely personal aspects people assign to reality to cope. Reality is harsh and sharp. It persists even when we don't want it to. Its in the moment, every moment, whether we can handle it or not. Most people can't. They twist their perceptions of reality to fit they're own agendas, or the agenda of the belief system they adopt. Then they try to live in the future or past, based on those beliefs, instead of embracing the reality in the moment of now. They substitute reality, when they can, to fit those beliefs. Then they ignore reality when it doesn't. Reality exists whether they can justify it or not because, well, its reality. |

Just my opinion, based on my studies of history, but I think this is one of those "It's both and neither" kinds of things. That is, the reason why the "war to end all wars" fantasy that is mentioned in the Bible is set in Meggido, is because that particular area saw war after war after war, during the time when most of the stories there were written. Meggido was situated in the crossroads of all the contending Empires and kingdoms of the day. It was the best place to use to "foretell" the End Of The World War, because everyone back then would hear, and say "Oh, well of COURSE it will go through Meggido. So this prediction makes sense." In modern times, since no one ACTUALLY wants the end of the world, the idea of Armageddon is more of a religious or spiritual idea that people like to use as a sort of bogeyman to dangle in front of their own faces. As a prophecy, it suffers from the same great problems that all Biblical prophecies do. One, most of the "prophecies" were actually rewrites of past legends, designed to make it APPEAR that what was happening later had been foretold, by "adjusting" the names and places and facts, to make it fit what actually did happen later. Almost. Second, the Bible itself declares prophesying to be a "bad thing" for REAL believers to indulge in, primarily because of the ever present problem of "false prophets" predicting things and leading the "flock" astray. That is why this debate is all about. Remember what Paul say in Ephesians 6:10-17. You have to choose which side you are. What the world teached or what the Bible teached. In Matthew 24 Jesus is saying about rumours of war. But the rapture theory teaches about a WORLD war 3 in Israel. Do you know why? Because the rapture theory has put everybody minds, on literal Israel so that they has forget that they are spiritual Israel. And many don't even know that my friend. Israel is not GOD chosen nation any more. Now all Christians who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour is Israel Spiritual. We are now the seed of Jesus. I hope, my friend now that you let only MASTER JESUS guide you. |

I also understand the symbolism of the Rapture. I choose not to be influenced by them. Yes, you read that right. I believe God is the entire Universe. I don't subscribe myself to religion. I attempt to embrace reality. Therefore, any forecast of anything is nonsense to me. If you find comfort in the threat of the end, go for it. If you find comfort in the Bible or Koran, go for it. I happen to find comfort in the reality before me and require no justification. When you quote scripture or promote religion I can accept that. Why can't you accept me? |

Hallelujah! At the Bible university of my Archbishop I have learned that, if someone asks a question, he has already 50 % of the answer. I am sure you have more than 50% of the answer. According to Bible word "Iron sharpens Iron" we are looking for more knowledge and wisdom. I would like to hear YOUR answer. God bless you

And this topic is in CHRISTIAN SINGLE. I think you just posted this to prove that you are "Superspirtual" or have religious pride... I think you know where pride is based... Is this spiritual or literal???? This is not a good theological ministry point...Kind of childish if you ask me...People answered and you argue with them....Maybe you were false in acting as an open minded individual??? Seems to me you already had YOUR answer...You just wanted to argue and You know this was a total pointless post. It was neither spirituality enlightening nor encouraging... Maybe next time you should, think before you post... : ( |
