so crystal, what do you do when it settles down to say -20c for a week or so???? It is rare to get temps like that over here. I think we used to get them in the past though. If we'd get -20 I don't know what I'd do. I couldn't keep my house properly warm then as there is no roof insulation and the roof runs through the bedroom. I have a poorly built, large, extension I cannot close off that I can't even keep warm as it is. First winter I lived here we had -12C. That was BAD in capitals. I had to pay E485 extra for gas that year. (Approx $525) which I didn't have as I'm on a benefit and had just moved house with a lot of costs. Took me about a year to pay that off. Your question reminds me to ask council for doors so I can close the extension off. Something that's been on my mind for a few weeks... I do think btw that some areas further inland can get very close to -20C. It's a bit warmer here during winter due to the warmth of the sea. So if it's -12C here, it'll be approx -18C further inland. There's areas there (eastern part of the country) where they also get much more snow than we do over here in this coastal area. |
