I would buy winter clothes in October, but they may not be on sale.

Best thing to do is figure out what you want/need, figure out a budget, then shop online for what's available and offline for better bargains as stores need to turnover to rent paying merchandise. March, april, may will be one of the "best" time with the greatest selection and some price bargains. June, july, august are going to be the "best" time for price bargains but less selection. So just depends on what you want. Just a coat? Do you have a specific coat in mind that you like? Did you find a bunch of different coats you like and just want to choose one? Do you need a bunch of different stuff? Can you find it all in one place now and save money on shipping? Later you might find one thing at a bunch of different sites or places and may end up losing any savings having to pay for individual item shipping. |

Clothes are too expensive! I jump the end of the season sales for clothes. When the season rolls around next year, it's a surprise to find the items I'd forgotten I had bought and never worn yet. Haha!

LOL, I have a closet full of clothes I bought years ago and haven't worn yet. Luckily my size doesn't change much anymore.
Which brings me to a question. Should I take those stickers off? |

Hey, I think if you buy winter clothes in march, then it would be expensive. You can get winter clothes best deal and offer in a seasonal sale. For this summer, I was searching for beach clothes and some fashion accessories. So, I found some amazing summer deals and offers at sites like Amazon, City Sunglass, Oakley and similar.

End of the season is the best time to buy. You might want to look at discount stores like tjmaxx. I got sneaker for 60% off at rue 21 last weekend. You just have to look for deals.

I always have a look around in local charity shops. You can make decent bargains, plus buy stuff for a good cause

Is March the best time to buy winter clothes at reduced prices ($$% off) or not?? Why don't we ask Mingle2 members who live south of the Equator. After all, they will be experiencing Winter a month from now. |

nowadays with retailers not storing anything. the end of season is definitely the cheapest time to get anything. they keep reducing prices to get the inventory gone. the down side tho is dwindling selection and sizes available

You need to shop around also and know prices. We went to an overstock warehouse over the weekend. Their prices were marked down but not a good deal. I noticed most people were leaving the store empty handed.

Off season and end of season is best for many things. Years ago, I bought a steel snow shovel in July and it was really marked down in price. Bought a $200 winter coat during a going out of business sale about 25 years ago, marked off 99%. Still use that coat in fact.

I'm generally not seeing winter clothes in my local stores at this time. I may try a search on amazon later...

All I know is every truck driver should have two pairs of pantyhose on him at all times. One pair is for the fuel line in case it ever breaks. The stretching makes it easy to wrap the line and fix the issue.
This old wise driver that shared this information with me... I didn't ask what the second pair was for. *shrug* |

I could do with possum thermals .. June is the start of winter in nz and the snow on the mountains , though spectacular i s freezing my bits and pieces

I would think so unless they're being moved to storage to make room for spring stuff.

These days the season sales start before the season does? Often in July they have summer collection on discount/sale and in July summer has barely even properly taken off. Same with winter.
I sometimes go to a second-hand shop. They change winter to summer clothes in March? We still had snow and temperatures below 0 in March? March often is the coldest winter month of all. So buying winter clothes in March, why not? If they're on sale. Unless you're a fashion freak, then you may want to wait. I don't care for fashion myself. I want what feels good, looks good on me and makes me feel 'me'. Which more often than not isn't the latest fad |

I buy them year round, if I so desire. Never pay retail. Never.

Next month is back to school shopping. It's tough because the clothes are mainly for fall weather but its the hottest time of the year.

I tried to pm you but you have me locked out by age. Write to me, darlin'. A nekkid picture would be nice, but not strictly necessary. Big hug, Ann. |
