It's the YMCA, I work in the cafeteria. Not hard work but when we're busy it gets crazy. Non-stop walking and refilling stuff.

I'm excited about it. It's a remote island off the coast of Maine. Monhegan Island. I'll be working for an Inn, mostly dish washing and housekeeping, but learning the rest of the business as well.

The Island is only 2 miles long and 1 mile wide. Lots of woods and hiking trails. And mostly artists go there for vacation. It will be quiet and peaceful, and a chance to bank most of the money I earn.

Sounds like a nice place. is it far from where you are?

Yes, I'm in Colorado... The Rocky Mountains. Maine is on the Northeast coast. The time zone difference is two hours.

It's not going to work out. Everything except the housing situation is great. They have 25-30 employees crammed into the dorm and most are young who do not respect other's need to sleep.

But he did give me another place on the Island and the lady's name to contact. And he told me that the Bed & Breakfast place I applied at would be more suitable for me.

Back to the old grindstone!

Yes, realistically I would have been miserable. I don't sleep well as it is and I'm a light sleeper. Otherwise it would have been okay. It was a physically demanding job too, but I probably could have handled that part... but not if I didn't get any sleep.

There's a few dude ranches around here. Some in Montana, Wyoming, and a few in Colorado that I'm interested in. I'm sure something will show up.

Yes, lots of horses... and cowboys!!!

Just kidding. There are horses and wranglers, but most of the dude ranches have free room and board, and are hard work. Guests come there for the Western kind of vacation.

I love horses. Some of the places let you ride for free. I'm checking out a few places now.

I just need to write a new cover letter. I don't like cover letters

And for some of the jobs I have to send in a picture, so I need to have one taken with something other than a tank top on.

One more month here, I need to get busy, or busier.
