Not to worried about the heat.. I think.my computer is going out. Dang the will intermittently cut out like the entire ignition looses power for a split second. And when it rains hard, it won't start or run at all, and since they mounted the computer on the inside front fender behind the air box, it gets wet. But as soon as it dries just enough, it'll start. A very strange problem to track down.. Could be a bad ground too?

Any thoughts?

I have another computer, procrastinating again to switch them out and see what happens.. Could be a crankshaft position sensor too? Idk.. Its a bit annoying lol

Plain Jane... Got the cast iron straight 6 in it.. Non 4x4.. Auto trans.

on the regular square body cherokees i have had problem s with the feed wiring below the battery corroding and causing random no starts and occasionally hiccups. as for the puter just eyeball it and make sure the case is still water tight and maybe pull the plugs and grease them heavy to insure no drowning

if it's the rounder body grand cherokee i haven't seen it often at all but i know some one who has. i will see him today and find out where in the harness he found it. it was not in the same place.

Its a shoe box.. I'll have to check it all when it stops raining.. It just started out of the blue on morning. It had rained and it tried to start, ran like crap a few seconds, then died and wouldn't hit a lick.. Cranked fine. AAA towed to my shop where it started right up, but the alternator went out.. Idk.. Things possessed. Its got 287k on the odometer.. Lol

yeah stu had a bunch that have done it. you might need to pull the battery and tray to find the wire made out of green powder.

Ah.. Thanks.. Yes.. Over the summer the battery died, I had one but it was to big to sit in the box, so I removed the tray to fit it in and ran like that until that battery went bad. So I put the correct battery back in.. I bet you just figured this out for me.. Because that's around the time it started.
