Great!

I connected it to my tablet as well and worked on the application, but when I got to the financial stuff, it booted me out because it wasn't a secure connection.

But then I realized I had the hotspot turned off, accidentally, and was going through the public WiFi. Not sure why it wouldn't let me continue.

Too much time passed and now I have to start over.

I can try again, but am weary of doing all that work and having the same thing happen.

I will be able to do it at my work place tomorrow.

had you used the tablet w/ the phone as a hotspot already?

if not it will always auto latch to a known connection 1st.

one of the setting choices is always connect to this connaection.
so if a choice then the one that has been used before and had that setting set (usually by default) is the one that gets picked if there is a choice

It was the first time I used it with my phone's hotspot. I didn't realize I had it turned off, so it was using the free access Internet that the internet company is making available for the disaster victims.

Will it be a secure connection with using my phone as the hotspot?

when you set it up it should havesaid what kind it is but typically if it is password required then it is secured

Yes, that's what happened. It used the connection that I used before at my house. Only it was public access since I don't have cable/internet at this time.

Okay, then the phone is secure. At my home address it just automatically connected to the free internet access that the company is providing.
