Topic: Hilary Clinton- is she done? | |

Surly your not suggesting that women are not up for competing for the job of POTUS I think any woman that has strong sound policies for growing the economy , and smart on foreign affairs there's no reason why she shouldn't win. But when you shove a distrusted corrupt lyer down everyone's throat she will lose every time. Not to mention her brazingly arrogant attitude is always a turn off. history hasnt proven this true,,, women have run and been lambasted for the same things men do and get patted on the back for or excused from and men have been 'corrupt lyers' and still won,,, present POTUS included |

Ole Hillary may have the best of intentions, but who knows really. She comes off as scripted and insincere in her speeches. And her new book, blaming everybody and everything except herself for her failure to get elected isn't helping her reputation. Yup, stick a fork in her. She's well past done.

If only I actually ever heard her blame anyone else for anything she'd done or read a quote from her directly... instead of just reading second hand accounts And if only most of the electorate had picked up her (or any other) book to read,,,, She lived a life of full moments and impactful moments and I respect the run she gave and the hard work she put in for others. But we were meant to get what we deserve and thats just what happened. Would have been nothing she or anyone else could do to change it. |

Im talking about the (proven) Yale grad who spent a lifetime fighting for womens and childrens issues and healthcare and who was elected twice to US Senate and raised a hard working intelligent young woman People here keep talking about some fictional villain they read about in some alt right publications or internet sites... |

Her "Trump was rewarded for attacks" quotes is laughable.
She kind of reminds me of Camilla, Bill Cosbys wife. not an ounce of love or respect for her husband but sticks with the adulterer... such a role model for young girls worldwide |

Her "Trump was rewarded for attacks" quotes is laughable. She kind of reminds me of Camilla, Bill Cosbys wife. not an ounce of love or respect for her husband but sticks with the adulterer... such a role model for young girls worldwide and you know this how? You hang out with the family? and love for the spouse is an issue with Trump supporters? Yeah, right. such a 'role model' for young men worldwide, huh? like I said, a penis makes it okay. a vagina makes it an abomination. It is scary that those constantly bashing her do not even realize their own double standards. |

You seem to want to gravitate towards Trump on Hillary threads? Not sure what that's about. For what it's worth, Melania is no role model either but at least she doesn't pretend to be eh? |

For what it's worth, Melania is no role model either but at least she doesn't pretend to be eh? it wasnt about OBama either, but being all are political figures, you can expect them to come up in the political discussions,,,, I 'gravitate' towards threads that interest me. Some seem to 'gravitate' towards only seeing my interests while ignoring the repetitive themes and interests of others. For what it's worth. The thread is not about Melania or Michelle, and neither of them have to 'pretend' to be anything. They are who they are and I personally feel both of them have more class than most. |

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's campaign memoir includes a questionable interpretation of the central lesson of George Orwell's novel "1984," namely that individuals should trust those in positions of authority. Clinton's memoir What Happened, released Tuesday, suggests the goal of the government-sanctioned torture featured prominently in Orwell's novel is to erode trust in the authoritarian overlords who control all aspects of society. This perspective is diametrically opposed to the central lesson most readers have drawn from the book since it was published in 1949. "Attempting to define reality is a core feature of authoritarianism. This is what the Soviets did when they erased political dissidents from historical photos. This is what happens in George Orwell's classic novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, when a torturer holds up four fingers and delivers electric shocks until his prisoner sees five fingers as ordered. The goal is to make you question logic and reason and to sow mistrust toward exactly the people we need to rely on: our leaders, the press, ex-perts who seek to guide public policy based on evidence, ourselves. For Trump, as with so much he does, it's about simple dominance." There is no shortage of attempts to conform the lessons of "1984" to a range of modern political contexts, but Clinton's interpretation stretches the broad limits of literary interpretation. The origin of Clinton's counterintuitive interpretation of the work is unclear. Somehow, after reading a terrifying account of government overreach creeping into every aspect of human life and choice, Clinton drew the lesson that individuals should be able to trust the government, and society's various information gatekeepers. A number of Clintons' fellow Democrats have condemned the contents of the campaign memoir as unnecessarily divisive and derided her for the timing of its release. One former Clinton staffer told Politico that Clinton's book release and the resulting news cycle was her "final torture" for the party. |
