I have had fox news on since yesterday and it has been non stop IRMA and she's sputtering out.

She's weakening, which is good, but it would be nice if she'd sputter out completely.

If Irma sputters out completely, then could you guard the pancakes.

Besides everything that's mentioned before by Scientists I just wonder if our churches can help in such situations because it seems as if God is sending a message to the World but we have nobody to interpret it for us.We need to pray with honesty to God because we need Him more than ever now.The world must come together as one and ask God for forgiveness if we sinned in anyway.

The clear up will probably be more heart breaking than the storm itself!
I'm not going to comment on others but reference to insurance cover, here in this kind of event the insurance companies pull the old "act of god "
Card! So they won't pay out! whoa
Hope everyone is ok ish flowerforyou

You're right Mikey, I have seen some of the videos and it's going to be devastating for a lot of people.

My sister's boyfriend has a rental in our neighborhood and they just sent him a picture. It's dry and no damage. We are further back in the neighborhood but it's still a little morsel of hope for our place, even though ours is a mobile home.

I too hope everyone is okay flowerforyou

I have heard Irma is calming down from what they thought. Is that right?

Others will probably know better but according to sky news here it's been downgraded to a tropical storm and going up inland, not sure of the state but it's the one at the top of florida,on the west side.

Yes yellowrose, Irma is calming down. She has been one category less than originally expected since she hit the Keys.

It was a category 1 by time it got here and they were saying it would be a category 2or 3.

Thank God, because if it hit the Keys at a cat 5, we might not have had any thing standing.

They projected a cat 6. Thank God it is calming down (not that is a picnic)

Georgia Mikey. And yes she's calmed down a lot.

Good thing I didn't go to Tennessee, she might not have and would have followed me there laugh

Isn't it strange how there is no coverage on the life changing disaster in Texas? I guess Texas is back to normal now, eh?

Irma could have been a lot worse. Focus has moved to Florida and no longer is concerned with the islanders that actually experienced a cat 5 storm. I guess those islands are okay now too.

I'm not minimizing the impact the storm has had on many people in Florida. I'm pointing out how the media refocuses attention. When interest in Florida's damage wanes, the media will switch to some other story that grabs attention and Florida's problems will be forgotten too.

Hurricanes are a destructive force. We know where they happen yet we build there anyway. If you live in hurricane alley it should be no surprise that things will be destroyed. I live in a hurricane prone area. Eventually my town will be destroyed by one. It certainly won't be a surprise.

They don't have a 6 yet. They were considering adding a new category.

And yes, thank God!

Same with everything tom. bad as it is, once the initial distruction is done and the media has criticised the government for the usual "to little to late "then they move on, no excitement in clear up operations!
Those islands look like either the somme or hiroshima!
