Mayan Shamans are sometimes chosen from the womb to be what they are. Their heads will be wrapped in bandages from birth to the age of 9 or 13 in order to develop their senses other than vision.
These Shamans are trained in the 4 elements of fire, water, land, air. They will specialize in one of these. They hold the remaining codices that were not destroyed by the Spanish/Church. Their belief is that the Mayan calendar date, 13.0.0.0.0 (12/21/12) will usher in a new dimension. Those spirits that are ready will move forward. Those that are not will remain. They feel that this change will not be abrupt, but gradual over a few years.

Matter.. what you and I, the earth.. everything we can see, hear, smell and touch... even stuff we cannot sense ~ is made of... Has no end. It just changes form. It flows from solid, to liquid, to gas, to energy.. then solid again... It never ceases to exist. We just think it does because it is unrecognizable in its current form.

So.. Yes. The world as we know it will end. The world though.. has no end. The universe and whatever holds it, is a constant. Whether the world changes in this century or the next, this millenium or the next..is hard to say. Some choose to interpret prophesy in the Bible to reveal times and dates... Some take prophets such as Nostradamus and many others, words and parables pretty literally too. To date, thus far... every prediction has been unfulfilled.

We just like to think we got it all figured out. We like to think in finite terms like beginning and end...We find some perverted comfort in that. We cannot entirely grasp the notion of change.

I think the end of the world may be near...but the degradation of society may be more painful to watch and is already under way.
