Choosing love over compatibility health-wise is what I've encountered before.
I chose the latter.
I'm AS, she's AS as well. The relationship never worked for me.
I needed to put the future in perspective. Kids and stuff.

Im not sure I follow your shorthand, or abbreviated descriptions. Could you please elaborate?

Sorry, i'm not a medical person, i can't explain so much.
Any medical personnel in the house to help me out pls?

First tell us what "AS" means. No need for medical personnel... just tell us in your own words.

gen·o·type

1.
the genetic makeup of an organism or group of organisms with reference to a single trait, set of traits, or an entire complex of traits.
2.
the sum total of genes transmitted from parent to offspring.

We have AA, AS, AC, SS.
I hope this sheds some light.
If two AS mingle and give birth, theres a posibility of having an SS which stands for Sickler. A kid that will always fall sick consistently.

That didn't clear up anything for me.

That didn't clear up anything for me.

I know right.
That's why i referred to a medical expert to simplify the complex topic.

So wait ,r u saying u chose each other due to your compatable genetic makeup so u would produce genetically superior children???? Instead of deciding on a partner based off mostky emotions and feelings and sex . And now youve decided in the future emotions are more improtant that genetic compatability ??? Hmmmm ok

Well, then, this means nothing at all if you both have no intention of having kids.

Then you are asking the wrong people. This is a FREE dating site. The doctors and other medical specialist can very well afford paying dating sites and you won't find them here.

I suggest you go to a medical forum. Good luck.

Hey , I am not the medical expert , but I can try to explain a little based on the information above .

First, let start with AA AS AC SS.
According to the information you provided , those four groups of letters represent autosomal alleles on your chromosomes.( genotype)
AA means dominate homozygous allele , SS means homozygous recessive allele.
AS and AC are the heterozygous alleles, which means they are the carriers, but not necessarily show the symptoms of disease.
Based on Punnett square :
A S
A AA AS

S AS SS
It shows that one of your offspring would have 25% of chance to have homozygous recessive allele SS. 50% of chance are the heterozygous dominate( just like you and your partner), 25% chance of homozygous dominate for AA.
Because it is not x-linked genetic disease(since you didn't mention about your parents in this case), girls and boys would have equality chance for carrying this sickle allele.

I hope this will helpful if this is information you are seeking.

Than you. I just realized not a lot of people are so much informed in genetics.
And i started a topic i know much about but can't put into writting so as not to confuse anyone.

sounds like there is a test for these AS AC, etc... are there needles involved? I'm not a fan of needles..
