America, did you read what I mentioned, 38 men already jump on this and 32 women also followed. That means its here. People incarcerated is willing by choice to go thru it. I would say not everybody will volunteer for this but your desperate ones will even if its 30 days off your time. |

Sex offenders should have a complete sex change.

Some men do not understand anatomy ., vasectomy is not castration Many Men pay to have vasectomies .. usually when they have finished fathering children or fed up using rubbers .. It is just a small snip .. they don't even need a bandaid No bandaid...but I will need a kiss on the boo boo. |
|

If this is about rape....bs. Rape isn't sexual. Castrate a rapist, they will find another means. Doesn't do any good

help me understand where the logic in this?
I don't know. You don't really provide any meaningful information. Based on the OP a judge one day decreed getting a vasectomy or implant gives you 30 days off your sentence. There are states, like CA, that can force chemical castration. At least this, according to the little information in the OP, is voluntary. Maybe that's the logic? "If you're willing to volunteer for a vasectomy or willing to be implanted with birth control (which may or may not reduce sexual urges, in repeat sex offenders?) then you are showing that you are in a sense repentant for your crimes and working to avoid recidivism." Do you agree with snip, snip the family jewels will be beneficial?
Maybe. For all I know the judge allows a 30 day credit only to those serving 70 years, or repeat sex offenders. For all I know the judge is 102 years old and going senile and thinks the humors in the genitals are leading to criminal behavior. just a crazier way of depopulation our country?
Do the inmates in question already have kids? Are they sex offenders? Do the female inmates in prison keep getting knocked up and the babies are born in prison creating a huge burden to the system? Can't really explain the logic or see it as a crazy way of depopulation our country without more meaningful information. |

vasectomies and contraceptives are only to prevent procreation
so they do not want 'criminals' to have children? seems a slippery slope that I do not agree with,,,, |

I looked it up and in 2008 there were 2,418,352 people incarcerated in the US jail systems. (a quick search result)
The op is refering to one judge and merely 60 or so people. Threat of depopulation? nah, not in the least. |

This sort of behavior by a judge comes up periodically. A very long time ago now, I read about a judge in California, who's niece was killed by a speeding car. In reaction, he began giving jail time of up to a year, for anyone who had been ticketed for speeding, even if it was only five miles over the limit.
Eventually, the state authorities stepped in, and rescinded the sentences and took him off the bench. Everyone sympathized with his grief for his niece, and understood that his goal was positive overall, but they had to stop him. In other cases, judges have occasionally been caught up in a cause of some sort, and started letting people go, who had committed nasty crimes, again because they were angry about something else. Judges do have, and need to have, a lot more leeway to adjust the response of the laws they represent, in order to make sure they appropriately deal with the convicted person, but there must always be limits as well, or the legal system becomes a personal fiefdom, and democracy is over. |

vasectomies and contraceptives are only to prevent procreation so they do not want 'criminals' to have children? seems a slippery slope that I do not agree with,,,, the judge thinks the incarcerated criminals don't take care of their children as it is now, why would they have more kids? I think the judge is on to something here. Eye, listen to Blondey, if you couldn't understand my previous post, listen to her, Vasectomy IS NOT castration. Jailhouse vasectomies should include a swift kick in the pills, right after the procedure is done |
