I just cut down a lot..I eat a lot of lean cuisine dinners.
My diet consists of this:
No breakfast
1 lean cuisine dinner of my choice for lunch
1 yogurt parfait for snack
1 lean cuisine dinner for supper and 1 piece of fruit
Lots of water all day long!!!

thats just about what I eat every day...then if I am not hungry, I skip the snacks!! I lost 125 pounds but you have to understand that I had cancer also. Now I am trying to maintain the weight...I kept it off for 3 1/2 years but it is getting harder to do.
Good luck flowerforyou

Eat Healthy
Use Portion Control
Exercise (I walk)

Nailed it. Going vegetarian can also help a lot.

Did you know that the fiber/cell walls in plants will not only soak up cholesterol and keep you from absorbing it, but if you eat it last, it will actually push the other food through your system before you can absorb all the calories?

Oh yeah, and only eat when you're Hungry, instead of just Bored (I used to do that).

Oh yeah, stay away from processed meats. They still have chemicals in them designed to fatten the cows up...guess what they do to you?

The best diet is no diet. Eat sensibly. That means eat three healthy well balanced meals a day and do not over eat. When you have a snack make sure it's something healthy. You don't have to stay away from all fats, sugars, ect. Just use your brain and some will power. Moderation is the key. However, if you have a cholesterol issue stay away from transfats and eat more whole grains such as whole grain breads and pastas. Add some Omega 3 Fatty Acids, such as Fish Oil Capsuls, to help lower that cholesterol. something else to help lower the weight is to stay away from sodas, caffeine, and sugary drinks. Instead drink fresh fruit juices in moderation and lots and lots of water. And the key to this whole thing is get off your butt and exersise. You must exersise and get your heart rate up in order to burn some of those calories off. Eating right is only going to do so much, you must exersise. And don't be discouraged is you don't see the numbers on the scale go down. In fact you might even see the numbers stay the same. But you will feel the difference in your clothes. See, muscle weighs more than fat.. As you burn the fat and those fat cells shrink you are also building muscle and your new body is starting to take a new shape. That's why you might not see the results you want on the scale right away. How do I know all of this. My three children and I see a nutritionist and we are all living this new healthy lifestyle. We are seeing results.

last year, i stopped eating rice and carbs for one month and just had veggies and fruits (non-starchy). no fried foods and no sweets. i lost 10 pounds in one month.

during the same time, i exercise, about 30 minutes of fast walking and light jogging, and stretches and the lot.

after two weeks of just veggies, i started eating fish and a little of chicken...and started eating little carbs/bread. for the next 6 months, i've lost a total of 20 pounds.

i've maintained my weight as of today, and i don't choose food. i eat anything now, fried, chocolates, sodas, hard drinks, you name it, i'll eat it. the only thing to remember is, eat in moderation.

=)

good luck to you!

Congrats to all who have lost weight and kept it off! That is a great accomplishment and you should be proud of yourselves!!flowerforyou

Diet and exercise...that is all I do.

Good luck to all who undertake a diet...it is difficult, but noone else will do it for you. That sounds dumb, but it is true. Just keep going and it gets easier as you go along.

The treadmill diet. Anytime you get hungry, work out for a bit. Whenever you could. Work out while you are waiting on the next step or on the food to be finished. Substitute treadmill with whatever cardio you have at hand.

You are allowed as much diet soda as you want in this diet. You are allowed to use salt and pepper but no other seasonings. You may NOT substitute any of the foods or do it in a different order. There is to be no sugar or milk in the coffee or tea.

Eat this way for 3 days and the next 4 eat normally, don't overdo it. You can lose up to 10 lbs in 3 days with this diet. I lose 5 lbs in 3 days on this diet but I find that other people can and will lose more than that. Then start the next week and you will eat the way for 3 again and normally for 4.
