Something just creeped me out.
Was it a Witch Doctor? (Ok, obviously a spam detourant) Seriously I just woke from the weirdest dream. Apparently I had amnesia. I had to take a life in self defense, but couldn't remember why. The authorities were closing in. So scary. What deep, dark, creepy thoughts and dreams have you had....In the Middle of the Night? >{;-}> |

Cmon all you pontificating arm chair Freuds, I'm waiting.

Haha, mistaken evidence (I guess).
Perhaps I've watched "The Fugitive" too many times? I really don't know. |

Sniff your right hand..if you were playing doctor, you may have operated on yourself. And all my nightmares went away when my dad died 20 years ago. |

Speaking of doctors, looks the love doctor is lurking.

To deny is to invite madness, to accept is to control
Can't remember who said but some woman. I'm not quite sure how she tied this into nightmares but I thought it sounded good. Have I just opened a can of worms, hence, anyone reading this will tonight have a nightmare about a can of worms, you're welcome. |

Dream interpretation, when it works best, is a little bit tricky. I don't buy in to the pseudo-Freudian stuff, where someone looks up a list of "this means that" stuff, and then tells you your dream means that you want to have sex with a wombat or something.
I do think that all dreams are you talking to you. But I take that to what I think is the next logical human end point, which includes that when we get into conversations, SOMETIMES we are talking about important stuff and trying to figure crud out, but other times we're just spit balling to pass the time, or entertaining ourselves. Heck, some dreams I've had, I've concluded were me starting from ONE scene that I originally intended as a sort of adventure fantasy, and I got sidetracked by old movie plots I saw, and took it to a dark place for no good reason. If I were to take a stab at guessing what your dream was about, I'd go with a couple of possibilities. Taking the "can't remember why it was self defense" bit, that COULD simply be one of those distractions. You were constructing the dream, perhaps starting from a simple fantasy where you strike back at someone threatening you. Your subconscious drifted a bit, and instead of stopping at the point where you get satisfaction just from fighting back, your dream declares the opponent dead. Okay, so you know from the news, that that means that the police are going to ask you to PROVE you were in lethal danger. But the part of your mind that made up the fight-back story never bothered to "write in" the previous bit where you actually WERE in danger, it just started at the point where you were already fighting back. So you suddenly realize (in the dream) that you don't KNOW why you were fighting back, all you know is what was written into the dream at the beginning. So then you CONCLUDE that you must be suffering from amnesia, because that would explain why you are so sure you are justified, but can't explain why. Finally, it upsets you as you gradually realize that what started out to be a dream designed to make you feel powerful enough to stand up for yourself, has now become so complicated that it's making you feel bad instead, so you get frustrated with the whole process, and wake up. Another possibility, that leads to some of my nightmares, is that you fell asleep with the TV on in the next room, or having just turned it off, and your mind takes off from whatever the last commercial was. It builds the story up from that, until you find yourself in a very dangerous or upsetting situation, and you wake up again. I had a dream a very long time ago now, that I had killed TWO people. The first one I killed by accident, and the second one came in right after I did, and I killed them in a panic for having discovered the first one. In the dream, I had stuffed both bodies in my closet while I tried to figure out what to do next. Just like you, I knew on some level that I wasn't truly a bad PERSON, because the first death WAS an accident, and I was still struggling to come up with a reason why killing the second person was just proof that circumstances can be frightening, when I woke up. I never thought that it all meant that I wanted to be a murderer, or anything like that. I think in the end, it was a reflection of all the decision making I was struggling with and stressing over in my waking life, turning into exaggerated and scary versions of decision making in my dreams. |

I keep having the good dreams!! I think it's because I waited soooooo
long to start getting back out there. I am not much into dreams or interpretation of them. Due to the fact dreams are never what they are really about. I am hoping my is just nerves from putting myself back out there. They are some jacked up dreams. Ok here's an example "GOOD DREAM" but they all end with some crazy as h@LL ending... Like nightmare type ending. I probably do not even want to know WTH they really mean. How can a dream be so good then end up so twisted...... Alright have fun with this one. I am probably just afraid of commitment etc..... |

I have had some scary ones. Usually from watching something creepy on TV.
What freaks me out is when I dream something before it happens. My kids hated it. I would catch them doing something . Lol Might just been that old curse "I hope you have two just ornery as you." |

Recently, I dreamed that I was changing my baby grandson's diaper.
Early the next morning, my daughter called and asked me to babysit my baby grandson. Dreams do come true. |

If a dream wakes me up its always a huge ocean wave,It looms above me and all I can think is,OH GOSH this is going to hurt really bad. Then I wake up.No explanation in a book really seems right.BUT IT HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES A MONTH Repeating dreams can be interesting and mystifying. I haven't had any such recently, but when I was a kid,I had one absolutely terrifying one that was bizarre. I think I finally figured it out, about thirty years after I stopped having it. I think the reason why most "dream guides" fail, is that everyone chooses their own symbology and their own substitutes of one thing for another while dreaming. Plus, when we ARE dreaming, we are even MORE subject to distraction than we are while we are awake. You can be part way into a dream that your subconscious set up, so it could continue to work on some waking worry you have, using a different context. Then suddenly, because your subconscious used something as a symbol that you find intriguing in other ways, you run off after that, and the original dream "plan" is lost. I had a dream where I'm sure I was trying to work on dealing with women better, and my "dream director" decided to use someone famous for me to practice on. Suddenly, instead of working on my conversation skills, or whatever, I'm saying "what the hell is SHE doing here in my yard?" or where ever, and then I'm off trying to explain how she was passing through town on the way to an audition and her car broke down, or she wanted a burger or...and then everything goes down hill. All dreams like that really mean, is that I'm as muddled while I sleep as I am while I'm awake. |
