How can one have feeling for another, when they have never interacted in person? What sort of attraction is there? Am I wrong for not understanding this? it is seldom that we can remove our feelings when we chat with someone. there is interest or none at all. after a while you look forward to the chatting and the voice of the person on the end of the other line specially when it becomes a habit. they fill a void within. thats how i see it |

Maybe you're right but wouldn't you be setting yourself up for heart break when the person you meet doesn't match what you've become accustomed to?

How can one have feeling for another, when they have never interacted in person? What sort of attraction is there? Am I wrong for not understanding this? You can have feelings for the image you have created in your own mind based on information you've got. Sometimes it's true, sometimes it's not... The risks of online dating. |

One can grow fond of the way another thinks and expresses themselves. Love is not just about physicality. Even in real life, people can present false images of themselves.

Think of it from the other side of your own question. How do you develop feelings for someone that you HAVE met in person?
When you look carefully at human interactions, you can see that they are all the same, and have the same shortcomings. Granted, it's not possible to develop a real physical attraction for someone you've not been face to face with. But absolutely everything else is possible. And more to the point, you can be FOOLED just as easily, if not more easily, meeting someone in person. Their appearance, the way they move, the sound of their voice, can all trigger responses in you which may not be an accurate understanding of them at all. Hence why we all see so many people complaining about being led on by someone else who they HAVE interacted with in person. |

I am often attracted to people's intellect, their values, and the energy they give off. And some people's energy is so compelling and impressive that it jumps through the screen and touches your mind and heart.
And just think about it in the reverse, how the comments of complete strangers online can evoke such strong negative emotions and reactions from the people who read it. People's energies and their words can be so powerful and impactful. But their identity and character have to be verified in person at some point and over time |

Oh, it can happen easily.
Just do not be fooled into anything permanent until you have met in the flesh. And checked body parts for authenticity. |

I think it depends. Some may end up building an image in their head that could or could not turn out to be wrong in real life.
I do know that I can pick up energies from a person, I don't need to meet someone to get a sense of what they're like. And sure I have made mistakes with men a few times, but that was not because my intuition was wrong, but because I didn't pay heed to my intuition. ALmost everyone picks up energies, even though they may not be aware of it. When you don't like someone, without knowing why, you pick up their energy. When you really like someone, without even knowing them, you pick up their energy. The same thing happens online, you just gotta pay a bit more conscious heed to it and not let desperation to find someone be your guide. |

How can one have feeling for another, when they have never interacted in person?
You ever hear someone say "perception is reality?" You have never interacted with reality. You have senses that only respond to a limited amount of reality. Your brain takes that input and forms an idea of what is for you to interact in. How can one have feeling for a flower, when they have only interacted with the flower based on their limited senses? Flowers exist and reflect light outsidde of the visible spectrum. Flowers release chemicals that are beyond the human olfactory or taste ability. Flowers give off thermal radiation human beings are not equipped to pick up. Flowers are surrounded by their own electromagnetic field that people can't really experience. Flowers go through a life cycle where the actual flowering is only one part of the state, where they're generally ignored at any other time. How can one have feeling for a flower, when they have never interacted with the flower to any degree that is significant in view of the reality of the flower? By objectifying flowers and filling in the blanks with their own emotional bias, transference. What sort of attraction is there?
Illusory based on assumptions and a false sense of security and knowledge. Am I wrong for not understanding this?
Not really. But it's very easy for you to use what you got to try and get more information than is available. You meet offline. It's the difference between seeing a flower in a book and trying to grow one. |

How can one have feeling for another, when they have never interacted in person? What sort of attraction is there? Am I wrong for not understanding this? I believe you need to know enough about someone in order to decide if you want to meet them. The further away from you they live, the more time you have to take to learn about them before deciding to meet up. The attraction is whether you want to meet each other, and if you do, the sooner that happens the better, because you are right in my opinion, until you meet in person and spend sometime dating, you do not know if there will be feelings for one another. |
