Topic: If you don't mind

I'm not sure when I joined but it seems like every day I get 65 emails stating, "Hello beautiful, (pretty, gorgeous, cutie, etc) I will like to know you better if you don't mind...
Is it just me, or is this code for "I'm not from around here" I delete and delete but my fear is that in the midst of my deleting, I might delete someone who wants to actually chat...
Any tips?

Leave your mail messages for at least a day, then check if their profile is still live of if they have deactivated, before you decide whether to reply because Scammers soon disappear.

Welcome to Mingle2 and good luck in your search.

Just glad I could clear that up for ya.

I suggest you first set your mail preferences for age and if important, distance. That will weed out a lot of scammers.

As many here have stated in other forum posts, Look for signs that they have actually read your profile. Again, that will further weed out scammers and shallow stalkers. I always mention something in that person's profile when I say hello.

You might also considering adding a statement in your profile like
"Unless your message has substance, I will not respond" or something to that effect.

You have "I found him.. not looking" at the top of your profile. Yet you are "Looking for man for dating" and " I'm looking for someone who isn't put off by the fact that I can laugh at the unusual".

With only 3 posts in the community, I'm wondering why you are even here?

One more thing: look up the term "scammer grammar." There are a number of phrases that are classic signals that you are dealing with a scammer or a computer-generated "bot."

"If you don't mind" is one such phrase. Another extremely common one, is if they say "I WILL like to get to know you."

Real people tend to grasp the concept that they have to participate in forums so if l see a profile that has no posts it is immediately suspect.

Another is a guy who posts he is a Native American but skips answering what tribe. Not every native is a card carrying BIA native but they usually are proud enough of their heritage to claim it.

Or any major military member. USA or UK, Canadian. EVEN United Nations Ect. That I pause, usually delete immediately AFTER reporting.
And I am a major supportter of military current and past.

It is so common that scammers rip pff photos and bios that a legit professional service member knows they have to over CE that do they rarely use that ad a lead

I will add that any of "pay issue " is a strait up con.Not only do the military have back IP systems for military in financial difficulties so does the international Red Cross.

They don't. The question was brought on by the statement on your profile of
"I found him.. not looking"
and I figured you might be here for the forums then noticed there are only 3 posts so figured it wasn't that since you have been here over a month with few posts.
Thus...wondering why you are here.

Mzrosie, what is OP?
I put that as my header because there was noone in my area that seemed to want to talk...but many men from other areas that "will like to know me more"..I thought the header would slow down the unwanted traffic...it didnt. Now I just talk to people I've met on here and would consider friends..

Hi SMiLee66 waving
OP means Original Poster... in this thread, it's you.

Ok now I understand. However, having "I found him.. not looking" as your header means you are just here for the forums which is ok. Lots of our regular posters are just here for the forums meaning they are married or already in a relationship (happy or not is not our business really lol) or just to troll the forums.

As you are here for dating... hey ^5 me too... I suggest that you change your header.

Welcome to Mingle2 :-)

Integrity, I'm from bfe, Oregon. Where weeds are green and green weed is legal...and I seem to be the only person on the planet allergic to both *grin*

I'm allergic to the green weed too but not second hand. Others can love it and it makes no difference to me.

"Looking for new friends...maybe something more"

That seems more inviting. I hope you find someone.
In the mean time
