Topic: you have tattoos and ride motorbikes..I don't.. | |

Ok.. a few of my friends were talking about this.. vanilla's and colorful people.. should vanilla people stick with vanilla people and colorful people stick with colorful people...
I think if you have tattoos and ride motorbikes you should find somebody that has the same interests... free-spirited outlook on life... Because if they date a vanilla.. someone who is not as free-spirited.. It will come back in the relationship... One day... the vanilla person will think at some point I don't know why she'or he is with me.. I'm not as free-spirited as they are... answers our question |

People can be multifaceted.
In the words of Def Leppard, "Pour some sprinkles on me". |

I dunno, the person who rides bikes and tattoos sounds close minded to me. Open minded people are willing to date anyone as long as they are good people, not superficial **** like what their hobbies are.

I guess research has proven that tattoos and motorbikes are attached to people of the same ilk. Just love it when stereotypes are broken. Is there a man with tattoos and motorbikes who can enjoy Pink Floyd and Mozart who can give me a classic sonnet next to a bassy rap, who can wear a tux and enjoy a formal dinner, then get into leather gear to cruise on his harley?

Also, why do you think tattoos and riding motorcycles is the only thing that equals "free spirited"? Sounds like you just want people to wear a uniform to signal that they are "free spirited".
It's about a mindset, not outward appearances. |

It's about a mindset, not outward appearances. Of course there are lots of other ways to express yourself and be free-spirited I was just using the motorbike and Tattoos as a point example..ok. |

Tattoos and motorbikes are a fading middle class fad. In a couple of years they'll be back with Hells Angels and guys who served in the Navy or French Foreign legion where they belong.

Open minded people are willing to date anyone as long as they are good people, not superficial **** like what their hobbies are. I think it's a question of commonality do the two people have enough in common to make them a good match.. Now if they are both okay with each other's outside interests.. then there should not be an issue ..but it's a problem when one opposes there will upon the other to accept or to participate in the other person's .. side interest and then ..makes them feel like it's a personal .. character flaw somehow within them.. if they don't share the same interests or participate in that person's interests.. or free spiritedness.... .ie).. i ride motorbikes and have tattoos.. and like loud bars.. you do not.... thank you for your participation in this topic I think I've answered my own question... |

This is my opinion and my belief: it is our job as humans to work for a borderless world, to break through the boundaries that imprison us be it tangibly or intangibly, be it centered around race or looks or the vehicles we drive. And yes, it does begin with the way we think. Because if we can think without judgement, then we are onto a good start.
Having said that I now would like to enjoy nothing but dark chocolate ice cream with brownies. Or maybe vanilla with ......??? |

Maybe I am way off on this, or am missing the point but sure sounds
like a lot of close minded, one sided folks on this subject. I live on a farm raise animals, grow a garden drive a tractor. RIDE A SWEET HARLEY & HAVE TATS I'm by no means a BIKER or REDNECK I'm not FREE SPIRITED WHATEVER THE HECK THAT IS..... What ever happened to Opposites Attract. Don't Judge a Book by it's cover Oh Also a licensed Cosmetologist... Ex OTR trucker. Many people have different interests. Like I said I may have missed the vanilla meaning???????? |

I think you can deviate a bit from your core habits, boundaries, your normal, norms and values etc. But if a partner is too different in all this, it could pose a problem.
A bit of contrast will add to a relationship, keep it alive, offer food for thought and expansion (growth). Too much contrast, you may indeed wonder what you see in the other. Maybe the contrast is attractive and appealing -opposites attract-, but after a while it will prolly start to grate on both. If one's idea of a great Saturday night is to go out, party, booze etc, while the other prefers to stay in most of the time, watching telly... You may have a problem. You gotta be realistic and make sure your core values and needs are met. |

Bikers are all walks of life even our Vice President rides Then your use of Vanilla Sorry but this is what I have always understood when others say someone is vanilla Vanilla normal and boring sex. used by more sexually adventerous people kinked to describe the dull sex had by the unimaginative he's so vanilla he probably thinks leaving the lights on is dirty. Humm but when it comes down to two people I have seen many relationships that work the best if they both have different things they like but at least one major thing that they do most often together in order to have that time together.. But for each to have other interest it only lets the other explore something they may not have done.. |

People don't fit into little molds Thank God!!!!! |

Tats aren't that pricey if you get them in Hong Kong, Bangkok, or some Pacific island. If you're not looking for the typical "status symbol" Harley, a bike can be a cheap form of transport. I rode for years |
