None. I don't really enjoy nicknames. "Why are you calling me babe/baby? Doesn't that make you a pedophile for what we did last night? Are you trying to tell me something? Is that why you want to go to the mall today? To steal more kids for your rampaging lust?" which ones..make you go no!.no!..not that
Most of them. But it can be fun teasing each other about the names used. terms of endearment are just a useful tool in times when men forget the woman's name. especially when hes a playboy
In the past I've dated women from the internet that have forgotten my name after a couple weeks of dating. Both of them pretty much said "well, I never used it when we emailed, and I never used it when just talking to you, so I don't know what happened, I just forgot it." I think for many people it's like someone's phone number. They just store it somewhere and don't commit it to memory, because they never specifically use it. If they're with someone they don't use a name to punctuate sentences, they just talk to them, they don't have to separate someone from a group because it's a 1 on 1 date. IMO anymore (for people "in general") if they remember someone's name having met them via the internet it's mostly because of texting, and the name comes up on their phone, so they get trained to associate with it even though it's in the periphery of awareness. |

I've never given 'terms of endearment' much thought? Those I have loved and have shown love towards me use them all the time. To me it is 'closer' than spouting my name all the time.
One thing I do not like is when someone I am not very close to calls me 'Tommy'. I was Tommy to my parents and my sister when I was a child. To me by calling me Tommy you are saying that you think I am a child, immature. My actual name is Thomas. When I am called Thomas it is usually in an official sense or during a reprimand. I prefer Tom, tMic (my middle name is Michael) or just Tee. When someone I don't know well calls me honey or baby or sweety it is a put-off. To me it disrespects the endearment those pet names are intended to convey. I would prefer just "Hey" or "Yoh" while talking with a new acquaintance. Some terms for your list: (used on me in the past) > My Sweetness > Honey Bunny > Vitamin T > Pumpkin > Blue Eyes > Dynamite > Cuddle Butt There are others but I'm trying to keep my reply PG |

Yes.
'Baby' 'Goddess' No. 'My old lady' 'Biotch' Anything new is always nice, made up on the spur of the moment (you can just imagine in our household)..if it does get overused.. we used to call each other funny names from on here and still do occasionally because they were so funny (folks long gone.) |

One I didn't care for was..."Schizo".

I don't really like too many terms of endearment. Hun or sweaty is ok but I always feel that he used that name with every girl he has ever been with. I want a new name.

Or should it allways be.. babe.... I think women should say baby and guys should say babe..? So calling a guy 'baby' and calling the woman 'babe'? I'd sooner say the other way around? Not sure though. English isn't my 1st lingo, and we weren't taught this stuff at school But I'd feel awkward calling a guy 'baby'. I like it when he says 'my girl' in that particular tone of voice We both occasionally use the equivalent of sweetie and hun. But to be honest I don't excel in that kind of stuff. It somehow always feels a bit weird to me. Not sure why. I think because you can so easily say it without it meaning anything much. I also like it when someone uses my name. Doesn't happen all that often. |
