Finally Some Sensible Democrats

If conservatives and Republicans are wondering if there are any sensible Democrats in Congress, then the former will get their answer by reading a 11/28/16 article by The Hill titled "Vulnerable Dems ready to work with Trump".

Here are three quotes from the article.

Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.): "My priority is standing up for North Dakota, not party politics. The reason I'm in the U.S. Senate is to work with Republicans and Democrats to get things done."

Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.): "My responsibility to Hoosiers is to support the best ideas, regardless of whether the idea comes from a Republican or Democrat."

Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.): "If it creates jobs, strengthens our economy, and is good for Montana then chances are I'm on board. We can't just say 'no' because the idea comes from the other side of the aisle."

The three above-mentioned Democrat senators acknowledge a reality that is often dismissed by politicians: No political party has a monopoly on good ideas.

It would be nonsense to reject an idea just because it comes from a member of a particular political party.

An idea needs to be judged according to it contents, not according to who came up with the idea.

U.S. politics would be much more pleasant if members of Congress – both Democrats and Republicans – were to have the attitude expressed by Senators Heitkamp, Donnelly and Tester.

For the past 8 years, that's all the party of "NO" have done.

Finally Some Sensible Democrats...Here are three quotes

So basically a couple of politicians said something that made them look kinda "good?"
That IS news and never happens.

It would be nonsense to reject an idea just because it comes from a member of a particular political party.

I kinda disagree.
As IMO the vast majority of ideas that come from either party are horrific.
If an idea comes from a member of a current party, I think it should be rejected.

For the past 8 years, that's all the party of "NO" have done.

I would like to be part of the "NO" party.
That's generally what you have to tell children that seem to have little concept of where money actually comes from.
"I want this candy bar."
"No."
"Then I want an iphone."
"No."
"Then I want to spend trillions of dollars that ultimately go to banks making record profits after receiving bailouts while the fed artificially keeps rates low because the economy sucks, increase your debt by trillions of dollars while raking in more in taxes than ever before and still deficit spend, oh and pump a bunch of money into a failing healthcare scheme."
"No."
"Then I want an xbox."
"No."

I would love a 3rd or 4th or 27th "no" party.

The current party of "NO" is the party which tells people that there is NO such thing as a free lunch.

Finally? I take it you've never listened to or read the millions of other times that Democrats (and in the old days, Republicans as well) who said exactly the same thing?

I REALLY wish people learned more of the complete history of the United States. So many lies and so much propaganda games would fail, if everyone just did their homework.

Taking pride in refusing to think, and in being self-righteous and unreasonable is a fad which affects people of all ages and political persuasions. It's ALWAYS a negative occurrence, and it ALWAYS damages the country, even when the self-righteousness is intended to be positive.

Now that the tables are flipped, some are suddenly all about-  peace, love, and "let's work together, for the good of the nation"

I am sorry, did you say something?

 NO, we can't hear you.

Now that these three democrats have stated their true beliefs, I wonder how long it will be before they are berated and told to stand down by Nancy P. or Barack. Three democrats that actually work FOR the folks they represent? Here today gone tomorrow.

I doubt they will EVER be told to stand down by Barack, being as he has no history of insisting people dont work 'together'
