In the 80s I was a teenager.
Back then life was easier than today. I don't miss anything to be honest. I was busy working like I am now, nothing has changed but got older with some grey hair. Oh I am a lot wiser too. |

A new episode of M*A*S*H every week, higher-quality Star Wars sequels, fresh strips every day of Bloom County, Calvin and Hobbes, and Doonesbury, 75 cents-a-gallon gasoline, the relative rarity of AIDS among heterosexuals, dBase III+, Jerry Garcia, the Plasmatics, decent tube amplifiers, housing prices 1/5 of what they are today, the Volkswagen Diesel Rabbit, and university library card catalogs.

The winter Olympics in Lake Placid
And the " miracle on ice", when the American non pro hockey team beat Russian professional team.. And I don't even care for hockey... but that was spectacular, as was the rest of the games. |

Oh eighties were glorious days of soccer greats like Diego Maradona,Roger Mila,Okala,Sam Okparaji...
those names were so popular that we kids wanted to be like them. Sam Okparaji died in 88' I remembered I cried ...this was a Man I have never met in person. The jersey no 10 was my best number and playing position on the soccer pitch because they were the no's worn by Maradona and Sam Okparaji.. I had fun childhood and the mid 80's were the onset of it. |

MTV. That was when it was good. They actually played music videos all the time. I still have my sweatshirt with "I want my MTV!" written on it.
