Okay, this site is for finding compatible friends, etc, so if you contact someone to express your interest, do you want that person to reply honestly about areas of incompatibility or would you rather not know?

Example, you are a smoker, but that is a problem for the person contacted. Is it better to hear this? Or, say you're very pro-military & the other person is anti-war.

Of course, you have to be upfront...to lie you are only the loser in the end. So put it on the table and let him digest it, if he runaway...no worries better to know then than later....just try again

Honesty is always the BEST policy, I always say. What's the sense of lying about things. Personally I HATE liars. Not everyone can "click", I would rather know right up front.

"You want the truth?"

"I want the truth."

"You can't handle the truth."

Had to throw that in...it is better to be truthful with someone you meet because isn't that what everyone is looking for in a person?

Yup, give me the truth. If its got potential ouch aspects to it, I would prefer an email though as opposed to a forum, but do what cha gotta do.

when I look at the profile of someone who has emailed me and there are things that are different , I email back with the differences and ask if it bothers them.

If a relationship starts out with one lie, it will lead to more lies, and eventually it is built on nothing but lies. Without a solid foundation of compatibility and honesty, the relationship has no chance of flourishing into healthy and lasting.

There are tactful ways to say things. Blunt honesty is not always the best policy. Woud you tell someone that they are too ugly or too fat? Even if that's the truth? Everybody has feelings and egos and I for one will do my best to be considerate of that.

So give em the truth. But give it to em nicely.

I do not take it personally if another does not like or want something about me, I think they should move on to someone who does fit them better. I would rather have complete honesty.

It is said, "The Truth shall set you free."
I find the truth means, I don't feel guilty about the lie.
