We are at Yellowstone National Park, my Mother, Father, Sister and
myself (aged 8) all in a tent, getting ready to go to sleep.

My Father reaches over and blows out the gas lamp.

All of a sudden a loud sound announced someone had broken wind.
The gas lamp immediately relit itself!

Mother (the culprit) started to laugh..now when my Mother used to
laugh, no one was safe from the pleasure of it, so we all started
to laugh..we could not stop.

The rangers came by and ejected us, and still we could not stop laughing,
we stayed in our car.

Laughing.
For a long time.
Gas lamp.
I love camping.

Hmmm. Must not be too many campers on M2. I have soooo many stories but there aren't too many that stand out to me.

Here's one I guess:

I was out in the middle of nowhere fishing before day light. Everything was perfect. After about an hour I had caught three nice trout. Anyway, as the sun began to show itself I noticed a large moving shape straight across the creek. After realizing it was a bear, I jumped about ten feet. Reaching for my pistol I soon discovered that I had forgot to bring it. Oooops.

Since I was completely alone, I was greedy and spread my equipment out in all directions. So, I decided to just stay put and keep all my focus on the bear. After a few minutes, the bear noticed me and just stared intently. Then it stood up. I didn't move. Nor did the bear. I decided it was time to leave so I grabbed what I could and slowly backed up keeping my focus towards the bear.

When I decided I had enough distance between the bear and myself I turned a round and headed out of the area. That's when I just about had a heart attack. I walked right in between a mother bear and her cub. I though for sure I would be attacked. At this point, I wasn't sure what direction to go so I stayed put hoping for the best.

The mother bear stared at me while swinging her paws in the dirt making quite the spectacle. I thought for sure I was good as dead. I, stupidly, was still carrying the three fish I caught with me. But, they were not easily accessible. So, I couldn't toss them away. I'm sure she would have enjoy eating them.

Luckily after a few minutes more the mother bear just walked a round me, within 15 feet, and soon disappeared along with her cub. After safely making it back to my vehicle I had to decide whether or not to get the equipment I left behind. I decided to press my luck and uneventfully collected all of my stuff.

Oh yeah, those fish were absolutely delicious. They were wild rainbows that had very tasty pink meat inside. MMMmmm. It is getting hard to find wild trout anywhere near me. The stocked trout are not good for eating as they have no flavor to them.

I had two unforgettable camping adventures with my friends. One was our Zambales Trip, we camp in 2 coves and 1 island, Nagsasa Cove, Anawangin Cove and Capone's Island. There were too many campers, it was really fun sightseeing, swimming and trekking. On our last day we had our 6hrs trekking from Nagsasa Cove going up to Mt. Bira Bira and down to Cawag Subic. We had to walk in a very narrow and steep side of the mountain, where only one person could pass. It took us a bit longer staying on top of the mountain taking pictures and then had a picnic lunch in the river downhill. What a beautiful and truly amazing view, it took my breath away.

The other camping adventure was with my 2 crazy close girl friends, they fetch me at the office as I was having my overtime, tried to convince me to go with them to a resort in Subic called Grande Island. I was unprepared we just dropped by in my house to pack my things and went straight to our destination. We were having fun singing and laughing inside the car on our way to Subic. We arrived early morning there so we have to wait for the ferry boat going to the island, so we slept inside the carlaugh laugh laugh can you imagine going to the beach with your stiletto ? I forgot to change my shoes and I didn't bring any slippers at all. We just rented a tent and slept there for 2 days, we had so much fun. And the next time we went there it was with my friend's family, the more the merrierhappy  drinks

Did you spike it up to keep it from collapsing right away in the wind?

Or did it just fold up like a cheap lawn chair?

I used to live on the Tuolumne River (Strawberry, CA) and
we would catch our limit every day (10 each) German browns
but farmed I think from the reservoir..best fish I ever ate.

Walking back up the hill after fishing, there was a bear,
fresh from the dumpster..a few feet from the car, I lurched to
it, jumped inside and slammed the door. And LOCKED it.

Ooops, forgot the mister :-)
When my brain decreased somewhat from survival mode I let
him in the car. We watched the bear lumber away.

Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it. Most of us are too busy with life's struggles that we forget to appreciate the beauty of nature. Sometimes we need a break to contemplate, be one with nature and feel life itself. To realize that our pursuit for happiness is not somewhere but it is everywhere, we just have to look inside our hearts to see the true beauty of God's creation. For in appreciation of nature we find joy forever, the beautiful things that surrounds are all given to us to enjoy lifehappy  drinks

One of my first experiences of camping was at a weekend sweet water festival ..hippie music ... .. At that stage i was young and virginal ... Omg .. There were people doing it in sleeping bags everywhere I looked .. I remember thinking they better hurry up or they will miss All the entertainment ... laughing ... so many people ... a few had tents but most slept under the stars and swam naked in the river .. waving

Glad it happened.

It must have been part of the basis that formed the Blondey that I think everybody knows and loves.

I gave this one some real thought and I have concluded that even the worst camping trip is better then a good day at work.

I don't know if I have a great camping story. I do remember one time camping in California and it was kind of a rugged campground. My bother and his friend were 19 years old, my father was there too. It was a little late in the day when we tried to set up camp. Those guys were afraid of the dark and slept in the truck with a baseball bat. My sister and I were determined to set up our tent with a flash light. She was 17 and I was 14 years old at the time.

I have so many camping stories but one was hiking into a wilderness area in southern oregon. Living on fish and what berries and edible plants that were available. Could ho a week without seeing anyone else back then.
