Personally, I have taken a couple of girls on dates, and I personally think it's more fun to go somewhere under the pretext of "getting to know each other" or something like that. By actually calling it a date, it usually just feels so awkward, like everything is being judged or something. I think it just feels more natural not to "date"...

I guess it depends on what you mean by a date. I think dinner and a movie is good. Any guy who really likes you will want to show you a good time like that. Spend time with you, talk to you, make you laugh, listen to you.

Yeah I know it Natassia. I was shy as shy can be when I was your age. Just pick a guy you're attracted to, ask him if he would be willing to take you where you want to go, and treat you like a lady at all times, and if he says yes, then tell him you're interested but you want to take some time to know him better before you meet him. In time, and after talking to him some, you will lose your shyness and be ready to go to the movies with him. The internet can actually make a good way to start getting to know someone. That way, he stays at a distance until you're ready to talk to him on the phone.

the movies is a horrible place to "get to know someone". in order to get to know someone you have to talk to each other and you cant do that at the movies.

I still take girls on dates, and I still plan to as well. I'm a bit old fashion though, and yes a lot of my friends don't take girls on dates, they just might take them to a party or something and then back to one of their houses eventually.
