I have noticed in the forums many people who have been on this site for a year or more. Are the chances of finding love on this site that dismal or do a lot of people stay in the forums because they have formed friendships? I'm not judging anyone, I would like to make friends on this site as well as finding someone special. I'm just curious. They say you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince but come on, I don't like frogs!!!!

Well, I was here for a long time and found only one girl who just wanted to be my friend and nothing more, which is fine. But as you said "come on" So yeah, not only female get unlucky but males do too.

I've been on this site for a few years. I met someone when I first joined. We had one date and realized we had little chemistry. I feel that you can chat all you want online but it's something completely different when you actually meet up. I just read the forums or browse profiles.

M2 has been around a bit, so there are MANY people who joined
the site for dating that ended up making lasting friendships.

It is like your neighborhood Pub, people drop in, have a chat,
have a look-see and wander off.

Many have married over the years I have been here, some are in
everlasting relationships.

The site has morphed somewhat into a 'social' site too..some do
not even consider dating..there seems to be something for everybody,
if you look deep enough..and share enough of yourself through the
forums.

Finding anyone honest, genuine, decent, etc. on this site is near inpossible as I've been on here for 2 years & had nothing but disappointments & scammers. I'm very close to deleting my profile & just giving up on meeting anyone.

In general. a person will make more opportunities then he/she will find.That is the good and the bad news as one needs to assume responsibility for ones success and failures and this requires maturity to address when not going as one desires. Most people will not make sufficient errors in judgement to be successful as the pain or rejection tends to thwart many when more courage and efforts are required ...A famous psychiatrist said it this way People get what they deserve" meaning if a person does not learn how to deal with rejection and social manipulation they will be victimized and the solution is to become responsible and learn how to manage ones feelings effectively and proceed to ones needed goals and desires

It seems to me that most of the conversations that I have had on this site have been shallow,or downright misleading. I would like to think that you could meet responsible people on this site,but I really haven't.
Most of the conversations that I have had have been short,and very shallow. Perhaps I come across wrong with others here,I don't know.
I do know,that in real life situations I am able to interact with others much better than with a keyboard.

Just because people have been here for a while doesn't mean they haven't had luck. Many stuck around to chat with friends in the forums.

As many have said... A lot of us that have been here for a long time have made some wonderful friends.

I have dated off this site and met my BF here. I know of many couples that don't come on anymore that are married or living together.

So this site is many things to many people.
