Fine, Jessflowerforyou , and you?

I made another post in the Disneyland thread. Apparantly our young friend didn't understand what I said in the first one. Hopefully he'll re-read it and ask me to clarify. I guess I'll have to brush up on my one-syllable wordslaugh --easier to comprehend, you know.

Well, time for dinner. Chicken tonight. I'll check back later and see the status of this issue. Later, all.

well as i see it the reason someone

would get so upset about someone

not having a picture up

is that they would be afraid of liking

someone that that does not meet

thier eye candy level

and

thus appearing to be shallow and insensitive

but hey

what do i know

Scammers use fake photos, so I identify those who use fake photos as scammers, etc. I'm not saying that just because they have a fake pic, that they are a scammer or anything, but it is a red flag to me.

adj, again you look dam good in grayflowerforyou As for your statement there is soooo much truth in it. A person's personal likes, dislikes, personality, attitude, etc.... can be portrayed by anything outside and including a pic of themselves. Getting to know someone has way more to do with all the other aspects of them from their looks.flowerforyou

adj4u --Completely off the mark. "someone that that does not meet thier eye candy level, shallow, incensitive"

This was not the issue whatsoever. Look at my post question and please don't assume to guess in the negative. In fact, my reasons are very positive.

I realize there are likely a few select people who for whatever reason feel the need to be anonymous due to ..several reasons including being stalked, or having gone through an accident and they do not feel comfortable with their looks, insecurity or embarrasment, sexual identity crisis.....

But then there are those that are just hiding behind Famous Icons and weak profiles and never show themselves for who they really are.

When I read a book by Martin Luther King it did not matter what he looked like but I does make one feel better when they have a picture in their mind that is the correct one. I can relate to the person.... you have a picture of who they are... not someone whose persona has already been created and has a character we relate to.

Ask yourself honestly if you were reading poems, statements, and texting back and forth with someone and later found out that they were not who they appeared wouldn't that bother you? Wouldn't you feel lied to or betrayed by that person?

I suppose my hope is that while I am here that I could actually see the JustSayHi enthusiasm by people being "Real".

If you think having a picture of an icon is "real person" then what is fake?

Sure I can just pass by those profiles but I'm pushin' for everyone to be real so we can relate to the qualities that make them unique.

I realize this has stirred up controversy and I'm fine with that. I stand by my proposition that I would hope people who join this site in the future don't all have duck pictures, nature pictures and star pictures and not at least just.... just one of their own.

What are we afraid of? I know... life...

Its alright and I appreciate everyone chiming in no matter what their opinion.

Respectfully,

John (if you see my profile you will see that I am only looking for freinds so please don't mistake my intentions for what has become a drama filled post)

while i kind of see your point...there's still no way to be sure, even with a picture.

my first online "romance", as it were...was with a handsome man from another site; he was well-liked by all and seemed great. not TOO good-looking...nothing seemed fake about the pics whatsoever. i was also in contact with his brother and a few others...turned out he was ALL of them, and had twenty women going. turned out he was also over four hundred pounds, toothless, and unhinged. was quite interesting.

my second was a man that was seen by many as wonderful and highly intelligent...turns out he lived in his own little world. half of what he put out there as an expert was only online knowledge...meeting him was a complete shock. it took many more months and him playing several women before anyone began to doubt him...he was always seen as the resident go-to man, the expert on anything scientific or computer-base. that one has SERIOUS issues...wouldn't even let his own mother sit in the front seat of his car after i rode in it...yeah...

my third was one of the most awesome experiences of my life...the best date i've ever had. he was EXACTLY who he claimed, through and through.

my point is that pics aren't the important issue. the man/woman BEHIND that pic can be someone completely foreign, even if you know what they look like.

I get what your saying john but you need to respect peoples photophobia....laugh

UWannaBSpontaneous's photo

That's part of what I'm sayin' we don't know if it's photophobia or scammer, or what?

I can tolerate but I'm not the only one who feels this way as can be seen by others posts. Most people agree that there should be 1 real photo. They tolerate when someone doesn't and I have to do the same.

If the topic opened up a healthy discussion than so be it.

Again this post is a question/answer all to itself having nothing to do with any other post. Don't direct anything at me personally... direct it at the topic. Logic

Regards,

John
