"find someone else that is more agreeable to you that can return your feelings and you'll be much happier."

And where exactly ARE they if you can't escape the Friends List?

Bobzeaux, if someone sees you as a friend. You are exactly that: a friend.

Why would you want to 'escape' being a friend to someone? If that is the way you feel about the friendship - you aren't being honest with yourself or them.

i see that happen alot, girls all so get over looked by guys. i think if they are that dumb to pass up being respected and cared for they deserve to be with a jerk. or they are to worried about what other people would think. its sad but like some one said it will all ways be like that. friendships also last way longer and maybe you should look at it from another angel and just be happy they are in your life.

Being friends is great, but being forever filed away into the Just Friends Folder with EVERYONE you'll ever meet is bad. That's not worth escaping?

I think every body needs to give a hand to a broken heart not the cold shoulder because thats how you deal with things...Were human broken hearts happen but they heal with love not cold shoulders..

I think what was written was very well spoken, and so very true, and not just for men. I was in love with my best friend, but he never saw me as more then just that. I still love him and he is still my friend, but you always have to wonder what could have been.

I also do not think he was looking for someone to feel sorry for him. I think this writing shows that he feels sorry for the one who got away, cause she never got to see what a great person he was.

Of course it sucks. But that's why anyone would be happier finding someone else or at least putting all that emotion, time and energy towards finding that someone else.

Perhaps look at the type of women you are attracted to and having these relationship with? "Nice guys" tend to be attracted to emotionally needy women. Instead, try looking for women that respect themselves, are happy, have healthy life-styles, and are looking for someone to date like themselves. I'll bet you won't find yourself on as many 'friend's lists.'
