There is a place for a FWB if you can deal with it emotionally. Everyone has needs so if there’s no relationship in the horizon, you fulfill your animal needs with a FWB.

Always seems to be a difference in definitions! I think of a FWB as the social/activities friend that I know I don't want the long term, live together relationship with for whatever reason yet we enjoy doing those things together. Like Toody;s platonic friend. We then decide to take it a little further and add intimacy/sex into the mix.

Yes, there is always the risk of excessive romantic ideas but this isn't much different than a person being put in the "friend zone" or the first part of a relationship when one person decides it isn't working. There are feelings involved and somebody is going to get their feelings bruised. Some people may wait a long time , if ever, to find that special one or know that isn't what they are looking for anymore. A good FWB relationship may just be the best option for them.

If love is one of the benefits then sure, I would agree to FWB. I do not need sex to be successful, but I need love to survive.

Your first love must be yourself!! Until you have mastered that, you are not capable of loving someone else for all your feelings will be directed at what you want not your supposed partner.
