If you mean that people are trying to delete topics alot, that tells me that there are a lot of stupid losers acting like children on the site cause they have no skills of conversation and they make up for their stupidity by clicking the delete topic button.

Hmm, does that sound like a possible reason?ohwell

Well, it's the same story anywhere ya go lol. You get a large group of people together in the same place, you will always have a small band of lunatic jack offs running around trying to cause trouble. Oh well.........

adj -- I agree, I saw a few earlier; perfectly valid posts with 1 or 2 votes to delete, and I had to wonder -- "Based on WHAT?" -- I think that batch all survived, but what are these people thinking?

The bad part about the system is that people who are voting to delete out of sheer stupidity, spite, etc., will never be required to account for their actions....

This is a partial self moderation site, so if there are nasty nasy threads posted, we can remove them by voting.

Others are just push happy on the delete button.

You can't please everyone all the time..flowerforyou

too much censorhip is deleterious.

Props to all you people paying attention, and especially those that comment on why they are voting how they vote. The discussion helps new people learn what might be considered a valid reason. I don't think people are being malicious, I just think there is a lot of new people and some confusion about the purpose behind moderation.

Now I have a question:

I hate seeing blatant personal ads in the sex/dating section. I think that's the purpose of the -profile-, to be a personal ad.

People seem to see "sex/dating" and think 'well, I'm looking for sex, guess ill post that there' not realizing its for general discussion about sex/dating. I've seen this site get (imo) cluttered up when people think its okay.

So what do you think? Do you think this is a valid reason for me to delete threads, as I have been voting?

I think every thread come up for moderation.
Automatically, and stays for a time or untill 4 people say (no, do not delete.)

I think!

Once when you could see it on your own thread.
I expeirimented............

It has changed some since then,
but I still think its automatic and not someone doing it!drinker drinker

It used to be that way........

If I see a nasty thread posted, being outright condemning towards other forum members I will vote to delete it, as well as sexually explicit advertising.

Any derogotary thread created to be nothing more than gratuitous or nasty, gets my deletion vote.

The self pity attention seeking, I don't I vote to keep, as I see it as a person trying to seek advice or support.

i have no problem with the moderation system

and i think it can be a good tool

i have voted to delete on occassion

but i think that those that delete

when it is blatantly wrong should

loose their privilege to moderate

and i have emailed some blatant wrong

delete moderations to mike or van

but i have no idea if they acted on them or not

yes - about the ummm "flyers on the windshield" laugh it is not encouraged by the rulebook - for the reasons you cite. personally - i tend to let it slide unless the person is recidivist repeat offender like. people tend to catch on pretty quick (mostly) hahahaha

laugh
