So, we need a UK specific topic...
Where in the UK people from? Do many UK people read this forum? Ta, ~C |

Hi all
I'm from Staffordshire bang in the middle, which means(because of the vastness of the UK) I'm only ever a couple of hours away from anywhere. Brill! Although there seems to be plenty brits on the site I've only come across a handful in the forums, I guess we're shy and retiring! Nice to hear from 2 more :-) |

*waves to everyone* Well now, isn't this a lonely little forum?

|
|

*waves back, then realises how camp his wave looked, and covers it up by smoothing what little hair he has*
Hey bloodyrose, yes its lonely, but at least you can have fun with echos... BTW, on your profile, did you mean Magick, and what horror do you like reading, I'm after something new to get my teeth into. Ta, ~C |

Hi Bloodrose...oooohh you're really new.
Hope you're enjoying the site so far, yes we're fairly thin on the ground in this forum, but growing!!! Have fun Hi Chrish Really enjoyed your post in Tech question for geeks and nerds.. Read it to try and learn something, not only was it full of shouting but couldn't understand a word of what was said, thanks for clearing it up. Enjoy! |

Hey justfunuk,
Thanks for your kind words, I especially hate IT elitness, when people assume they know everything, and everything everyone else knows is wrong. Infact its one of the only times I'll get annoyed, I'm a nice person really! Anything your not clear on, start a thread in the IT forum, and I'll answer it best I can. Ta, ~C |

Thanks you'll be a busy man :-)
Much appreciated! |

Hey Chrish.
Magick with a k? Is this a special form? A reference to good old Terry, perhaps? No, I meant magic with a g. The kind that can be found anywhere, and not just written in books about goblins and druids. :) And no, I don't mean David Blaine either. :P Horror? Anything, really. Whatever I can get my hands on. Last horror I read was Battle Royale the novel. Damn good book! So are we all the only British people in here? Oh, and ta for the welcome justfunuk! |

@bloodyrose:
Nope, "Magick" is the spelling used when referring to occult things. I'm open minded, and have read a few books, but I'm no where near being an occultist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magick Battle Royale? Is that the book they adapted into a Japanese film about kids with guns? Cool film, not read the book, I'll keep an eye out for it. I think a lot of British (I feel I should stand up and put my hand on my heart when I write that) people lurk on the forums, but few post. I'm glad one more does now though! Ta, ~C |

Chrish -
Ah, so we're talking Crowley? It's an interesting subject, occultism. Have you read any LaVey? I found his essay books ('Devil's Notebook' etc) particularly good. Yes, that's the very same Battle Royale. I'm a fan of Japanese horror. The book is much better. More British people should post! Where's your National pride, people? |

@Bloodyrose:
Yeah Crowley / Thelema style Magick... I've read a few of Crowleys writings: Book of the Law, Book of Lies and 777. I've also read quite a bit about Chaos Magick by people such as Phil Hine and Peter J. Carroll. I'm aware of Anton Szador LaVey (is that hows it spelt?), I've read the Satanic Bible, but I cast a very skeptical eye over his works, the guy lied about his upbringing, and as far as I know, wrote for no reason other than money. I find it all very interesting, and love having deep conversations about it (beats kicking the wing mirrors off of cars), but as I say, I'm no occultist, but I do keep an open mind. I've not read the Battle Royale book, but I love the film. Have you seen / read / played Parasite Eve? I've seen bits, but me and a few friends are having a J-Horror evening, and thats one of the films we watching. Any other J-Horror authors / books I should look out for? I'm going book shopping on the weekend and would love to add some to my list. I think more UK people should post, but I think we need more threads too, perhaps and occult and J-Horror thread to save this one being hijacked. Ta, ~C. |
